Free Music Notes for Box Car RacerFree Music Review: darker and deeper... Hit: 5 Stars
Not nearly as sophomoric as a lot of the songs on any given Blink album (don't read that wrong, juvenile lyrics are one of the reasons I love Blink), Box Car Racer manages to combine darker lyrics and a serious vibe witout losing the completely catchy riffs and infectious tunes of the best pop-punk out there today. Listening to "Watch the World" reminds me of why I've enjoyed seeing Blink 182 throw a few more serious tunes on their albums, and why I sometimes wish they would stick with that vibe for a few more songs. Sometimes you wanna rock out to a less-mature punk album and other times you want something with a little more substance - this one combines the great melodic, hard-charging Blink sound with songs that feel a bit more sincere. If you've been a fan of Blink 182, purchasing this should be a no-brainer.
Free Music Review: Box Car Racer a better album than,Blink 182 Hit: 5 Stars
When,Tom and Travis Split up from blink 182,I never knew that they would come together to produce, such an exellent album. This is an album that blink 182 could never think of,the lyics are much better, they explain an average teenage life is.Songs Like I feel so and there is,are very good songs, and they both show how tom Delonge can be at his best without swearing in every line, he really expresses himself and i think that he would much better in Blink 182 if he used this side of him.Travis all so is very good in this album even though he was good in Blink 182. to round of this review is to say that even though this album has some swearing it,The songs are billiant,Tom and Travis are at their best and to buy this album if u was or are a blink 182 fan, because this would be a great sellection to any punk rock lovers.
Free Music Review: Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
I will admit I am a blink182 fan. Not a huge fan, but they are about the only thing on mainstream radio that I can tolerate. When I heard that Tom Delonge was making a side CD I sighed and said, well... maybe they won't sound TOO much like blink to complain... well, after hearing the cd.... I have to say it is one of the best albums I've ever heard. The songs are so loud and heavy and also so quiet and gentle all at the same time... the riffs are so unexpected... the lyrics are words that you can fall asleep to (Cat Like Theif, track 5) or let out our anger to (I Feel So, track 1)... everything on the cd is so heartfelt and huge... I personally think Tom should quit Blink and do this band full time, cause it is SO much of a breath of fresh air from most music today....now go get the album.
Free Music Review: Good CD. Hit: 5 Stars
I am semi-blink fan. I kind of liked there older stuff, I am not a big emo punk guy either. I went a pretty long road trip this summer, And the only 2 cd's I had was this and Tool. The reason I bought this CD was because I kind of liked "I Feel So", But it became the worst song on the CD. "Letters to God" is probably one of the more original songs I have ever heard, and it is probably one of my favorite songs. "And I" is a great song that you can relate too. "Sorrow" and "There Is" are also very good songs. ALL of the songs on this CD are very good, "All Systems Go" and "I Feel So" are the worst, and they arnt bad. They just get old. Go pick this one up definately, very original lyrics in some songs. I really liked it.
Free Music Review: Blink 182...All grown up Hit: 5 Stars
OK, I know that a lot of this is back and forth "this is exactly like Blink" "This is nothing like Blink" I am not going to chose a side because they are neither. Yes they still have their pop-punk attitude in a few songs (especially 'My First Punk Song'). But I feel as if their style has grown up compared to any of the Blink cds. Boxcar seems to be a more sad striken group then the late Blink 182, with songs about missing your ex-g/f 'There Is' and songs about not wanting to die: 'Letters To God'. And at the end there is the song featuring the other member of Blink which is about suicidally jumping off a building. This is a definent buy if you like the Blink sound, but if you want to hear a more mature grown up sound...this CD is for you.
