Free Music Notes for Metheny Mehldau QuartetFree Music Review: Splendid Hit: 5 Stars
This is really a revelation of sorts, beautifully produced new-age jazz by Pat Metheny. I had liked some of his earlier efforts and lost patience after a while but he has managed to renew his approach quite a bit. The music is sonically perfect and the whole disc is exceptional not just one or two tracks, Beautiful. I may have to buy the first one also.

My wife and I thought it'd be cool to spend a weekend in Toronto and see the Metheny/Mehldau Quartet. We were right!! The studio recording does a nice job of capturing what the quartet did live. This is one of those rare cd's that'll reside in your car stereo player for a week at a time. Highly recommended.
Free Music Review: So much better than the duo Mehldau disc Hit: 5 Stars
This really sounds more like a Pat Metheny album than the companion disc he did with Brad Mehldau. That one was too busy, and lacked real tunes. This one, with quartet, is melancholy at times, then upbeat. The music really sings in the way that only Pat Metheny can make it. I highly recommend this one.
Free Music Review: Wonderful Hit: 5 Stars
This album is second to Michael Brecker's Pilgrimage. The tunes are great, the players are great - great album. Their first album together teased us with two tunes that featured the quartet - the quartet album won't let any expectations down. Buy it.
Free Music Review: One of Metheny's Best Hit: 5 Stars
Have you ever had a CD that you seem play over and over without ever getting sick of it? Well, this is one of those CDs. We own many other Pat Metheny CDs, but this quickly became a favorite.
