Brad Paisley is back in form. He will clearly have several hits on popular radio from this effort. But discerning listeners will realize that those guitar rifts have matured--they are still soaring and lightening fast, but they better match the mood of the music than previous efforts--all of which have been quite good. This man is destined to be one of the greatest talents country music has ever known. He fills his own niche in the industry--weaving catchy melodies through songs that express the feelings, events and friends we have known in our life. He may be "still a be a guy," but he gets what we all feel.

I usually don't write reviews for music, but I had to for 5th Gear. I usually listen to rock, but this album opened me up to a whole new genre. I heard "American Saturday Night" (off of the album of the same title) while surfing radio stations, and I was impressed. Shortly afterward, I purchased American Saturday Night and 5th Gear.
Boy was I impressed by the quality of 5th gear. The tone of the album ranges from the hilarious "online" and "ticks" to the more somber "Letters to Me" and everything in between. There's not a bad song on this album. In a time of throw-away pop stars, Brad Paisley stands out as a rare and talented singer/musician/songwriter in any genre.

I am sold on the idea that Brad Paisley is the greatest country artist out there now. It's always albums like this that convince me. 5th Gear may be his fifth album in, but he had no signs of slowing down, it is incredible!! Every song is catchy and even the tracks that aren't famous are great. "All I Wanted Was A Car" and "Mr. Policeman" are two of my favorites songs by Brad, even though they aren't as famous the others. This is a great album to start with you aren't really into Country but want to hear a great Country album. Can't go wrong with anything by this artist, but I recommend this album because it is what brought me back into listening to Country again. Love it!Free Music Review: still shifting gears

This is a fantastic CD - in true Brad Paisley fashion! A great variety of fun, up tempo songs like "Ticks" mixed with touching ballads like "Letter to Me", and signature Paisley humor, like "Online." I bought this CD when it was first released and I recently went out and bought my 2nd copy - of the new version with "Waitin' on a Woman" on it. That was one of my favorite songs on the TWW CD and I am so happy that Brad went back to that song and released it!!! Made a great CD even better! Way to go Brad!!!!Free Music Review: Brad Rules!!!!

This CD had 3 of my favorite songs on it, so, it was a winner even before I opened it (they are: Ticks, I'm Still a Guy, Online). I admire his versitility, with fun songs, ballads, love songs and message songs. Not to mention his guitar playing skills.
Brad is the Man!!!!
