Free Music Review: This CD made me a country fan!

I grew up and learned how to play guitar in the 1980's listening to Eddie Van Halen, George Lynch, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, etc... What I loved about this music was the marriage of great song writing and excellent guitar playing (shredding). The 1990's where a disappointment as guitar seemed to fall off the map (as far as mainstream music was concerned anyway). In other words, I think the 1990's where the Dark Ages (for progressive guitar players anyway). I also got tired of the 80's metal thing, and started listenging to a lot of 50's, 60's, and 70's music (for the songwriting).
A buddy of mine, however, turned me on to Brad Paisley's "Play" album and I also downloaded "American Saturday Night". I haven't been this excited about music in a long time (15-20 years). I went out and bought my first new guitar in about as long...and it's a Telecaster (inspired by Brad Paisley)! I'm a huge fan of his now (and country for that matter). Who would have known?!
This album has awesome guitar, awesome songwriting and some really great introspective work. It doesn't matter what kind of music you prefer, you'll love this album. It's inspiring and his best songwriting to date (IMO). He's been around since 1999 and has improved with each album. That's rare. Most musicians seem to improve for a little while and then fall down hill--not Paisley. He seems to age like a fine wine. How does he keep his edge? I have no idea. Maybe it's because he seems incredibly well grounded and possesses an incredible work ethic. Maybe it's because he was disappointed, like most of us, with guitarists and songwriters who get lazy and lose their edge (and their careers along with it).
Anyway, this guy made me a country music fan. My only regret is that I had no idea who he was until a few months ago. I could have been enjoying music/guitar again for the last decade!
