Free Music Notes for Part IIFree Music Review: I Love Brad Paisley!! Hit: 5 StarsThis is at least as good as his first...maybe better. I just love this man. And, so does my husband who isn't a country fan. Highly reccomended.
Free Music Review: WHOAAAAA Guitar Shred Madness (He's no Yngwie But....) Hit: 5 StarsThis guy is a country guitar shred master. A "Country Axe Samurai" if you will. If he could only incorporate some of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's technique in his playing....... We'd have to keep him in a cage!!!
Free Music Review: He's Got It All Hit: 5 StarsAnyone listening to contemporary country radio would probably agree that there is a sort of corporate sound being peddled today. There are male groups, female groups, male soloists, and female soloists that are virtually indistinguishable without the Deejay saying "that was so-and-so's latest..." Sadly, I don't see that trend changing, except....Brad Paisley doesn't sound like that.Brad Paisley is one of a kind, and he's the very best kind -- a gifted songwriter, scorching musician and heartfelt singer, who happens to be utterly commited to country music's heritage and bones while breathing new life into them. Add to this the fact that Brad is highly intelligent, has a serene self-knowledge about him that I can only envy, and a wicked wit and open-heartedness that are anything but calculated, and you have a superstar. By now the individual songs here have been described, and there's no need for me to add to that, except to say that the composer has a very diverse yet cohesive musical palette from which he paints. Every traditional genre gets its homage, but through the artist's own lenses and facets. I've heard Brad described as a young man with an old soul, and considering he's been doing this since he was a boy, I think there's truth to it. Fortunately, Brad has no vestiges of child-phenom-packaging. I doubt this guy was ever "packaged" at any age. It's quite the reverse -- he really was, and is, that rare prodigy both then and now. He is all real. If the idea of smart, interesting, funny, emotional, beautiful, contemporary traditional country music strikes a chord with you, go for this CD, and by all means its predecessor, "Who Needs Pictures," a phenomenal debut if ever there was one. I have never been so impressed with a complete artist as I am with Brad Paisley.
Free Music Review: All you need is love (and a whole bunch of wedding stuff) Hit: 4 StarsI had never heard of Brad Paisley until I heard him on concert warming up for Alan Jackson. When he sang, "Me Neither" I was blown away by his witty lyrics. His first CD, I felt sure, would be a tough act to beat. So it was with some trepidation that I bought Part II. Second albums are sort of notoriously weak.I need not have feared. If anything, Part II is better than "Who Needs Pictures". It's an amazing mix of clever, funny and/or poignant lyrics, absolutely superb pickin' and good tunes. I can only imagine the pigs flapping their brand new wings, the debut performance of "Demons on Ice", and Brad on his knees realizing that the 2 carat ring he's about to offer his love is home on top of his TV. She has that effect on him, after all. Too country? What's that? Just a great collaboration of Brad and come classical country singers! Do yourself a favor. Buy this CD and listen to it over and over. Read the lyrics and laugh out loud while you revel in outstanding musicianship. Part II is a winner!
