Free Music Review: Finally A Solo Debut!
Hit: 4 Stars

Brian Littrell, a member of the successful boyband Backstreet Boys, finally decides to release a solo album, just like fellow band member Nick Carter did a few years ago. On "Welcome Home" Brian proves what we already knew, that he's an exellent singer but also a good composer, Brian wrotes half of the songs. Most songs are confessional and deeply personal that deals with love, religion and past experiences. Being mostly a "Christian" Album it's obviusly diffrent from the pop/rock sound of Backstreet Boys but still it's a pretty good album. Brian's purpuse of this solo expriment was undoubltly to record something personal where he could perform something that he never would have been able to with the band, it won't become a hit and neither of the songs will get airplay on the commercial radio stations, but that is beyond the point. After over a decade with the Backstreet Boys he finally releases a personal solo effort where he tackles his religious belives and past experiences and makes a album of it all. For those that likes the Backstreet Boys, this could be something interesting to purchase but also for those that bought Nick Lachey's "What's Left of Me". Best songs here are "My Answer Is You" that sound a little like the neo sound of the band, the title track that is a catchy midtempo, "I'm Alive" that is contemporary rock and the jazzy "We Lift You Up" that gives his beautiful voice justice and a little help from backround choirs. Regardless of the fact that this aint a commerical pop album, it's a good purchase from a great vocalist that finally released his first solo album. 4/5 stars.

Free Music Review: Good voice, good songs, good cd
Hit: 4 Stars

Most of my cds are Christian or soundtracks. I do like the BSB latest album "Never Gone" though. So when I heard Brian was coming out with an album expressing his faith, I was excited. When I got his cd, I listened through and at first only really liked a few of the songs. But as I have listened to it more, the rest of the songs have grown on me and I have to say I like pretty much all of them very well. I really enjoy the upbeat tune of "I'm Alive". It sounds a lot like a BSB style song. I also like the slow acoustic guitar melody of "Gone Without Goodbye". Overall, this cd has a good variety of worshipful and more contemperary songs. The reason I gave it four stars is because I feel like some of the music overpowers a few of the songs and Brian's voice isn't very clear on a couple of the songs. But I highly recommend it for any previous BSB fans even if you don't like Christian music. And for those of you out there who enjoy Christian contemperary music, I also recommend this cd to add to your collection. I think you will find that the songs all have good messages and have good tunes to them. I sure am glad I purchased it.
