Free Music Notes for Here Come the Brides
Free Music Review: Party like it's 1989

Talk about a marriage made in hell (or perhaps rehab). Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx joined forces with L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns for the much hyped Brides of Destruction, which also featured (briefly) former Union frontman John Corabi on guitars and newcomer London Legrand on vocals. The band debuted in 2004 with Here Come the Brides.
Not surprisingly, Here Come the Brides draws heavily on the kind of late 80's Sunset Strip hard rock sound that put L.A. Guns and Motley Crue on the map in the first place. It's a loud and nasty rock & roll record with plenty of great hooks and solos, and the kind of swagger and attitude that you'd expect from this (pardon the pun) motley crew of unrepentant hair metallers. This kind of hard charging and hard partying rock album is a desperately needed alternative to the whining pretentiousness of bands like Creed and Coldplay, who appear to have forgotten that sometimes people just want to rock and roll all night and party every day.
Overall, Here Come the Brides is a satisfying throwback album that brings back the Sunset Strip glory days. The subsequent fallings out, lineup changes, tour cancellations, etc. all highlight the band's appetite for destruction (so to speak), but fans of Motley Crue, L.A. Guns, and that whole scene will find plenty to enjoy about this album.
