Free Music Notes for Bridget Jones's DiaryFree Music Review: UK import has additional songs Hit: 4 Stars
My personal favorite is Gabrielle's "Out of Reach," which she wrote specifically with Bridget Jones' heartbreak in mind after reading the book and is the title track released in the UK rather than the more generic US title track "Killin' Kind" by Shelby Lynne. My advice is to get the UK import which has at least 4 more songs from the movie soundtrack, although it also doesn't have Van Morrison's version of "Someone Like You."
Free Music Review: Feel good fun Hit: 4 Stars
This is one of my favorite cd's. I really like the variety of music and the tempo variations between songs (fast, slow, etc...) Sheryl Crow has an amazing track called "Kiss That Girl" (you'll seriously want to crank up the volume on that one)and I absolutely loved "Out of Reach" by Gabrielle (hey we've all felt like that at some point). A great cd to jam to when you need a pick me up or when you have it out with your boyfriend.
Free Music Review: Need Help. Hit: 4 Stars
This is a good album, a good accompaniment with the film. I do have a question for anyone who can help me. There's a song in the movie that's not on any of the soundtracks. It's the song playing in the background right after Bridget gets the interview and she is on her way to her apartment to cook her birthday dinner. She is walking through the streets of London and checking out vegetables. Does anyone know this song? Thanks.
Free Music Review: leave Dina alone! Hit: 4 Stars
Please stop dissing Dina Carroll. The woman is a wonderful singer and though Van's version of someone like you does rock, Ms. Carroll's rendition is beautiful and a very soulful and original take on a classic and in no way is it an inferior version. Check out her songs circa 1994 - Perfect year etc. A very talented woman who needs to be rediscovered by popular music lovers.
Free Music Review: Light hearted and fun. Hit: 4 Stars
When I saw the movie I knew I had to have the soundtrack. I like every song on the cd. Especially Out of Reach and Someone Like You. It also shows a different side of Robbie Williams. #4 he sounds a little Frank Sintra-ish. What fun! I'm really happy that I bought it. I have a lot of sound tracks but this is the one I listen the most.
