Free Music Review: The Legendary Ms. Britney Spears
Hit: 5 Stars

If this were another time and another era and if Britney Spears weren't "Britney Spears," this album would be selling like Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Because "Blackout" really is her best album. She really is one of the best commercial Pop artists ever. Britney has certainly had some of the more recognizable Pop songs over the past 10 years like "...Baby One More Time" and "Oops!...I Did It Again." As a recording artist and celebrity, she has captured the public's imagination on multiple levels.

Britney Spears has gotten notably better since her debut album. I think the first signs of evolution were with 2003's "In the Zone" and now once again with her 2007 release "Blackout." Where she has succeed and where some of her young peers haven't is that she's been able to stamp her image and persona on every song like Michael Jackson and Madonna have done. Even though slick producers like Timbaland's protégé Nate "Danjahandz" Hills (Gimme More) along with Bloodshy & Avant (Piece of Me) deserve at least half of the credit on the album "Blackout," without Britney Spears on these tracks they just don't sell. She's the secret ingredient on all of these songs. Only she could get away with something called "Get Naked (I Got a Plan)."

After 83 million albums sold WW, Britney knows her game very well and it's most evident on "Blackout." As a recording artist, she gets what works for her and what doesn't. We're not going to hear her trying to warble her way through Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston power ballads. Let's face it, some people try and it just doesn't work. Britney knows what her strengths and weakness are like Madonna does and she plays to them perfectly on "Blackout." She's a Dance/Pop artist and she has never pretended to be otherwise. Britney's never tried to be the next Celine Dion and shouldn't be faulted for that. Most people can't sing that well. You have to put her talent in perspective with the type of music that she's recording. If you do that, then she's A-list without a doubt. She's the best of her age group. If she continues to make albums that are as good as "In the Zone" and "Blackout" then in time she might be a true icon like her idol Madonna is. Her ascent to the top of the Pop world should continue if she can rise above the 24 hour media circus and put her legal problems behind her. Because "Blackout" makes a damn good argument that she should be next in line for queen. And her former Mickey Mouse mate Justin Timberlake might join her as king. Who knows?

But come on folks, Britney Spears deserves some credit. In the midst of probably her darkest moment, she has delivered her best record. Most people in the same situation under the same circumstances wouldn't have come even close. Appreciate her ability and her music for what it is and you won't be disappointed. I hope the Grammys remember her in February of 2009. An album like "Blackout" shouldn't be ignored.

Free Music Review: Britney Spears at Her Best / Blackout
Hit: 5 Stars

Britney Spears is back -- finally. We all know Britney is not the strongest vocalist when compared to Christina Aguilera or Mariah Carey, but strong vocals is not what "Blackout" is about. "Blackout" is fresh, modern, and edgy. Synthesized vocals and phenomenal beats support the album's base. Every track on this album is hypnotically produced to create a sound that listeners and critics would expect to hear in 2020; it's incredible.

The songs on this album are all phenomenal. The album starts out with the chart-topping "Gimme More," which is just a tease compared to the rest of the album. The second song, and reportedly the second single, is "Piece of Me," a rock/dance/pop hit where Spears addresses her critics. She sings, "I'm Mrs. Bad Media Karma, another day another drama ... I'm Mrs. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, I'm Mrs. 'Oh My God That Britney's Shameless."' The album continues with pop/dance songs that are less than forgettable. They are just the opposite with beats that stick in listeners' heads for hours and hours. "Toy Soldier" is an energetic and tantalizing song produced by Danja, who worked with Justin Timberlake on his latest album. Britney refuses to hold back on this album especially during the mesmerizing, "Get Naked (I Got a Plan)." She teases the listener asking, "What I gotta do to make you move my body?" and finishes it off with, "take it off, take it off, take it off." Britney closes the album with the one and only ballad in the entire album. Britney's last and most personal song is "Why Should I Be Sad?" where she confronts her recent heartbreak, but refuses to let it take over her life. Britney shows that even with all the stress and struggles of life, she is not going to let any of it bother her. She plans to move on. A perfect ending for an unbelievable album.

It is not just the hardcore "Britney enthusiasts" that rave about this album. The Associated Press calls it, "... not only a very good album, it's her best work ever - a triumph, with not a bad song to be found on the 12 tracks." The New York Times refers to the album as "incredible!" Entertainment Weekly gives it a "B+" The highest rating Britney has ever received from EW, and better than Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LovSounds." Some reviews have been harsh, saying Britney "is not ready to release an album." But forget about Britney's past mishaps and troubles, and listen to the album for what it is. If you have to -- forget it is Britney Spears completely, you will see that this album is extraordinary. It will have you dancing and singing along within the first listen.

** DO NOT MISS: Piece of Me, Break the Ice, Get Naked(I Got A Plan), Freakshow, Toy Soldier, and Perfect Lover. Also don't miss "State of Grace." (Search for it on YouTube) The song did not make it on the album, but it showcases Britney's real vocal talent.

Free Music Review: Blackout is easily....just INCREDIBLE....forget everything you knew about Britney!
Hit: 5 Stars

OK, so I wasnt expecting much from Britney after the numerous incidents from this year, which we just wont talk about. After listening to the demos on the net of all her songs, I was excited. I could tell instantly this album would thrust her back into the limelight of this type of music.
Blackout, doesnt black anything out. Its all out there to listen to. It sounds amazing, the beats are HOT, the vocals are slinky, synthesized and catchy. I have listened to Brits back catalogue recently, and all of her previous album have 3-4 filler songs.
I can safely say with confidence, that this album has no filler. Its actually possible to listen to start to finish.
Highlights from this album are aplently.
Gimme More - This is actually one of the weakest tracks on the album. Its freaking hot, but compared to other songs it pales in comparison! 8/10
Piece of Me - This is all about Britney and basically her crazy life, its a joy to listen to and its a real hot track. The producers along with Britney done some top of the line work here. 9.5/10
Radar - Catchy, like Toxic, just as infectious! 9/10
Break The Ice - What a club anthem! One of my favourites and apparently single #2...great choice! 10/10
Heaven on Earth - sounds 80s, it sounds kinda out of place, but still a highlight and generally considered the strongest track on the album. I disagree though! 8/10
Get Naked - a lot of people dont like this because of the male vocals, but it is hot! Its got a fantastic beat and its club destined! 8.5/10
Freakshow - Another huge highlight. Simply awesome. 10/10
Toy Soldier - Cant believe the tracks continue to be great!...Toy soldier is another superb track. 10/10
Hot As Ice- T-pain like, T-pain produced...another highlight, one of my favourites! 9/10
Ooh Ooh Baby - I love the guitar...its a real awesome song to sing a long to. 8.5/10
Perfect Lover - my only downside to the album...dont really love this one too much but its ok. 7/10
Why Should I Be Sad - a nice slow beat Pharrel produced song to wrap up
this incredible album. Love it. 9.5/10

As i said before...forget everything you thought you knew about Britney. All the rumours, truths and craziness. This album is hot. Nothing like before. Its like being in a night club!
She really has a prime opportunity to reel new comers with this album. My top Pop album of 2007 by far.

Free Music Review: Britney Spears's Official Blackout Review
Hit: 5 Stars

Heyy!!! It's me again!!! 9 hours ago I rated Circus (CD). So check that out too!!! Here is my review for Blackout:

Gimme More- This is the lead single on the CD and probably one of the best. She was supposed to comeback at the 2007 VMA's with this song, but she ended up running crying off stage. 10/10

Piece Of Me- This is my and my father's favorite on the CD. That's right even my father likes this one. It's electrified, although you can't help liking it. I pplay this track over nad over... 11/10

Radar- Like I said in my Circus review, I LUV THIS SONG!!! It's about her spying on a dude. JAMMIN!!! And her new single!!! 2,000,000/10

Break The Ice- This one has a very catchy beat. This is the one my mom likes. Especially in the breakdown. Very technological. 10/10

Heaven On Earth- I'm the only on who likes this one. It's kinda like "Break The Ice" it gets stuck in your head, and that's what a good song does. 10/10

Get Naked (I Got A Plan)- I give this song very little confidence. It has too much adultness in it for her making her comeback. The most innapropriate song on Earth. 8/10

Freakshow- This is the only song on the CD that I don't like. It's got this beginning intro that sounds like she is farting. And then she raps the whole time. Glad it's only like 2 minutes. 2/10

Toy Soldier- I like the beginning when the dude is talking. This is very danceable and fun. One of her only electrified ones that I Like. 10/10

Hot As Ice- I remember when this came out as "Cold As Fire". LOL. This one is not danceable, just listenable. Yet, awesome. 10/10

Ooh Ooh Baby- This is my favorite one on the CD. It sounds like Spanish guitar in the beginning!!! 1,000,000,000,000,000,000/10

Perfect Lover- This song is kinda innapropriate. Although this one is able to dance to. I like it. 9/10

Why Should I Be Sad- It's a ballad/hip hop song that's electrified, about how good she did on the album. It's kinda ego. In all her songs she sings about how everyone loves her when they don't. 7/10

Free Music Review: It's Ear-Crack!
Hit: 5 Stars

Oh, Britney! How did you do this? How in the Federline did you make the best dance record of the year?! You shouldn't have. There shouldn't be songs piled on songs of just pure pop perfection.

There is not one weak track on this CD. From the bleeps and layered chorus of "Radar," which takes Rihanna's own "Umbrella" and beats her it with it, all the way to the thumping "Get Naked," with its command to do exactly what the song says. You can't help but move to this record. This album is all hand claps, sing along choruses, thudding beats and snappy bridges.

Spears uses her proven hit makers, working with the producers who gave her, "Toxic" and "I'm a Slave For You" and it works and works very well. "Piece of Me" with it's thudding beat and Britney's voice in full robotic studio mode will have you dancing somehow as she talks about her trials and life. "Heaven on Earth" sounds like she went back in time and stalked Madonna in the 80's! Just a slice of pure pop.

This IS a club/dance record. It's the best "cooing" and "aahhhing" Britney has ever done. It's as if she's fully aware of what she is to pop music now. She's the Cher, the Madonna, the Janet. She's all out for fun on her records, and if you note all three of those women have had their on trials and media issues in real life as well.

By the time "Why Should I be Sad" comes on, it's almost a reality check. It doesn't slow down the album, but the lyrics (penned by Pharrell of the Neptunes) couldn't give you more unclear notions about everything you just heard. When she says "I'm tired of singing sad songs ..." Every single song can be seen in a different light. This album can be viewed as her escapism from every single thing around her. And when Pharell says, "Britney, Let's Go." you wonder if she really wants to leave the mess of being Britney Spears behind her.

*Get your hands on the bonus tracks. "Everybody," with its Eurythmics sample and Britney doing her best "Britney" growl makes you wonder why it wasn't an album track. And "Get Back" is the other gem. It's all drum, hook and Britney clawing and speeding above the zipping beat.
