Free Music Notes for BlackoutFree Music Review: God Bless Britney! Hit: 5 Stars
Britneys reign of pop continues, and it has never been more alluring. this album is dark and tragic, yet optimistic. anyone with even a slight awareness of pop culture knows that britney was not involved in the creative process for this album. this was a difficult point in her life, as it seemed career wise she had lost focus. There was no discipline or desire to hold onto her crown as the princess of pop, yet she defied all expectations with blackout. When she was totally counted out...she came back with this. And silenced her critics and destroyed her competitors.
This album is a full on embrace of the kinky schoolgirl sleaze that was only hinted at in the past. if britney was simply giving you a peek in her first few albums, she lets it all hang out on blackout. She still has that star quality, but it has never been more effective than on these tracks. the music is cutting edge electronica/dance. The producers earned every cent paid to them by britneys management.
lesson to the miley cyrus's of the world: if you are going to be a true pop diva, at least make the music good. miley has yet to realize this but britney nails it on every track. And if I may speak regarding lady gaga...lets call a spade a spade. at least britney has the courage on this album not to hide behind a facade of pseudo intellectual artistic irony in order to get attention. She is willing to just dance for the sake of it, and won't resort to pulling a madonna and pretending it is something more meaningful than it actually is. Britney just does not give a damn and wants to get krunk. Other singers rely on gimmicks and Miss Spears is the real thing and she is still standing, drinks in hand!
You thought she'd be gone after her first album. A flash in the pop pan. She can't sing. She does not write her own material. But she works hard for that money...listen to this album and you will see that Britney has fought for and earned her crown. And it is still hers, with out a doubt. Work it. Miley is probably a little scared, as am I. But I think I like it.
Free Music Review: "It's Britney..." (you know the rest) Hit: 5 Stars
First of all I have to say that Britney's personal life and her music are 2 totally seperate things and I think people need to deal with that and stop judging her music harshly due to what is said in tabloids.
That being said Britney's latest effort `Blackout' is her best CD to date and I would even have to go as far as to say that it is the best to come out this year. This CD evokes nothing but fun and happiness. From start to finish it is one great song after another. From the production, lyrics and her voice, this CD simply soars. Pretty much every song on this set screams single!! Every one of them is so radio friendly not to mention catchy, very dance friendly and upbeat. I have liked all of Brit's previous releases but there were always songs on each CD that I would skip over. Not on `Blackout' - every song is better than the last. No skipping going on here. Every song on here is a standout and a must hear but a few of my favorites that I tend to hit repeat on are:
"Gimme More" - everyone knows this song and it has spawned the biggest catchphrase of the year.
"Piece Of Me" - a great electro/pop song with amazing lyrics that seem to detail her life in the media. It is said to be her next single as well.
"Heaven On Earth" - a fun dance song that sounds like it could have come straight off of Madonna's 2005 CD: `Confessions On A Dance Floor' or something that sounds like it was made for Kylie Minogue but no one does it better than Britney here.
"Break The Ice" - One of the catchiest songs on here with a great beat and an even better hook and chorus.
"Oooh Oooh Baby" - this song has a great anathematic sound to it with a stellar beat.
I could go on and on about every song. All I need to say is that this CD is a must have and I could not have asked for anything better from Ms. Spears. A sure fire hit and a CD everyone will be talking about - not because of her personal life but due to the fact that it is great music!!!
Free Music Review: suprisingly a really good dance record.... Hit: 5 Stars
2007 was a bad year for Britney. all her crazy antics just turned people away from her including myself. even though i'm not a big fan of britney, her album blackout was really good even though it didn't have much success. blackout is in the zone pt. 2 with the partying and lustful themes. of all the albums she had released in the past, i definitely think that this is her best. you could tell that on each album, she improves a little.
1.gimme more-great intro "it's britney bitch". she performed this song at the 07 vmas which turned out to be a disastrous and embarrassing performance. despite all that, i enjoy the song and it did well on the charts. 5/5
2.piece of me- this is my favorite song off the album. the lyrics are catchy especially the chorus. it's cute and sarcastic in a way where she pokes fun at herself. "I'm Miss Media Karma". 5/5
3.radar- reminds me of soft cell's "tainted love". great throwback. 5/5
4.break the ice-didn't like the intro but the song sounds good eventually. 4/5
5.heaven on earth-sounds pretty 80ish/beverly hills like. 5/5
6.get naked- this song would have sound better without the weird, creepy voice in the background. it's like hearing sounds from hell. 3/5
7.freakshow- i like the beats. sounds pretty bouncy. 4/5
8.toy soldier-cute pop song with a nice little drumbeat. 5/5
9.hot as ice- the beats sound like the circus...crazy, silly, and freakish. it's a fun song but her vocals get kinda annoying toward the end. 4.5/5
10.ooh ooh baby- did they used a sample in this song. the beats sounds kinda familiar but i don't know the name of it. i like really the guitars. 5/5
11.perfect lover- it's very seductive and sensual. 4/5
12.why should i be sad-this is another favorite of mines. "hey baby...what's your name?". i like that easygoing vibe here. it sounds very different from the rest of her songs on here. 5/5
Free Music Review: Pleasantly Surprised! Hit: 5 Stars
I've only ever paid for one other Britney album in my life and that was her "B in the Mix" album where all her top songs were techno-ed out. I loved it because I mostly only listen to dance/club music. When I had heard some of the leaked songs off of her new album "Blackout", I thought that I might just have to shell out 10 bucks and support some good dance music. This album is nothing like anything she has done before and like most people are saying, it is a VERY WELL produced album. The beats, mixes, and vocals come together excellently and it makes every single song on this album listen-able.
Some GREAT songs that I JUST CAN'T stop listening to are:
1. Gimme More- It's just flippin awesome!
2. Piece of Me- I love: "I'm Mrs. 'Oh My God that Britneys shameless'"
2. Break the Ice- I think this is my favorite! Beat is awesome, has that 'slave for you' panting lol
3. Get Naked- I could dance to this all night, produced by Danja (same as Gimme more)
4. Freakshow- HOTTTTT azz song! Encore!
5. Hot as Ice- This is a really cool song, its sound is unique and really fun!! One of my favvvvs.
6. Ooh Ooh Baby- Sexy track! Good sound and vocals!
I really don't care to pay attention to Britney's personal life. I've honestly never really loved her or her music, although I did think she was an amazing dancer in the past and respected that. I just have to recognize good dance music when I hear it. If you like to dance/party/have fun, this album is for you. You really can just put this CD on and have a good time and let it play all the way through.
I do have to wonder though, when Britney was going into the studio and laying down the vocals and listening to the finished tracks, how wasn't that enough to straighten her out? This is exciting stuff and I hope her next single and video are more like the Britney I hear on this CD!
Free Music Review: Blackout- an evolution of in the zone. Hit: 5 Stars
gimme more. 9/10. the beat is sick the lyrics are okay, catchy but repetitive
piece of me. 10/10. sicks lyrics, nice anthem from her to the media, the beat is simple/synth but yet new.
Radar. 8/10 nice song, like the ending and beginning of the song. but get get back in my opinion is better.
Been a while. 8/10 this was on my top list, and now this here made it beyond, i like the new feel on it also the words don't overlap as before.
heaven on earth. 6/10 throwback to the 80's yes European style but there could have been something here to make it stand out, and the song is too long.
Get naked. 10/10 no shame no game, this song is a killer. it's catchy it has everything you want in a great track lyrics awesome. makes you want to sing along and get naked captures a raw sexual tension. Radio hit right here.
FreakShow 9/10 once again radio hit here...toxic beats
toysoldier 10/10 surprisingly i like... top lyrics in the whole album...is this also another punch to kevin... "This time I need a soldier I'm sick of toy soldiers, I'm so damn glad that's over""Brit, I heard he said he could stay if you wanted to"
Hot as ice 7/10 it was okay before i liked her weird voice but is better now still i wanted something more because i was expecting more energy.
