Free Music Review: Best Britney album to date
Hit: 5 Stars

Britney Spears has had much attention from the press and media recently due to her emotional breakdown, divorce, and loss of custody of her two young children. Amidst all her troubles, she does manage to do one thing that's productive in her life: release "Blackout". "Blackout" is by far her best album yet (I'd even rather listen to it than her Greatest Hits album) and the pop princess proves that even though she's going through a rough time, she can still manage to put all that aside and release an album that shows us that we haven't quite lost her yet. Every song on this album is catchy and the lyrics are not nearly as childish as on her previous albums. I have been a long-time Britney fan, right from the beginning, and even I had no hope for this CD. I just didn't think that she could still pull off an album such as this and this was going to be her own personal fight to retain popularity and fame during such a hard time in her life. However, she proves me wrong. I think that this CD is the perfect one to bring along in the car because it makes for a very enjoyable ride. Nearly everybody has heard the song "Gimme More," but there is so much else that this album has to offer. Oh, and I'm sure that everyone saw Britney's comeback on the VMAs with her live performance flop of "Gimme More," but trust me, she may have bombed the VMAs and been the topic of yet more conversations, but she really pulls it out here and deserves some praise.

Best songs on the album:
Break the Ice
Gimme More
Ooh Ooh Baby
Hot as Ice

Hey, four flawless songs on one album is definitely worth a buy, so do yourself a favor and buy this album. You won't be disappointed.

***** Way to go, Britney!

Free Music Review: Britney Shows Us She Can Do SOMETHING Right!
Hit: 5 Stars

With the media and press constantly following her and having her appear on the front page of every newspaper and magazine, it's no surprise Britney was going to choose now to come out with a new album. The biggest shocker is, after losing custody of her children, giving the most horrible performance of her career on the MTV Awards, and getting a divorce, her CD is one of the best albums of the year in my opinion.

The album kicks off with the smash hit and possibly the best song she's ever created "Gimme More". Sliding into the next tracks smoother than a baby's behind, Brit showcases a new side to her with a new "techno-pop" sound on "Piece of Me". This song mocks the media and press who constantly decide to give her slack for every move she makes. I love the lyrics. The albums best track ("Radar") not only shows off how good the producers are, but also the eagerness and fun in her voice as she wails out "Wonder if you know you're on my radar, on my radar!" on the chorus that you cannot help but sing a long to. The album continues with a similar sound (that does not get old) until it reaches "Perfect Lover". Many reviews of this song aren't too good, but I love this song to death. It's very mysterious and sexy which do the album justice. She ends her rollercoaster ride of an album with a song I constantly put on repeat "Why Should I Be Sad"; a callout to Kevin. She puts Kevin on blast telling him all of the wrongs he's done to her and their relationship yet repeats "Why should I be sad? Heaven knows, from the stupid freakin' things that you do." Giving the audience a set mind that their relationship is over. For a bad year, Brit makes up for it with this CD. It's a must buy.

Free Music Review: Overly packaged and produced, but still a very fun album
Hit: 5 Stars

While it is clear that Britney herself was only a small portion of the making of this CD, the beats, lyrics, and general tone are just what I'd expect from a Britney album - fun, light, and very catchy.

You can hear that Britney's voice has been played with in the studio - it sounds like she came in, did a bit of singing, and left them to perfect the sound. But even with that, the album is a lot of fun to listen to and one that I have been enjoying a lot. I love dance beats and songs that make me want to sing along and move, and this CD is great on both of those.

The best song is easily Gimme More, but the rest are all pretty good as well. Not a whole lot of character, but the songs are all catchy and there aren't any real losers in the bunch, which is more than I can say about most CDs I have bought!

If you are a Britney fan, go ahead and get this latest from her - it isn't as good as B in the Mix or her other top CDs, but it will stick to your player for a good long time!

Two months later: I wanted to add that this CD really has staying power. Most of the songs have really grown on me, and I have found that when I want to listen to something catchy and dancy, which is most days, I reach for this CD over other ones - even mix CD's of my own making! There is only one song I consistently skip past (track six) and the rest are pretty darn good. I have gotten most of the songs on the CD stuck in my head over the past months, and listened to it over sixty times, and I am still not tired of it. So overall I'd say this is a no-brainer purchase for those who like a fun dance beat.

Free Music Review: Very catchy
Hit: 5 Stars

I find Blackout to be Britney's most catchy album. The songs just stick with you. Despite whats going on in her life, Ms. Spears has put out yet another great album. I was let down in the fact that she only wrote two of the tracks that are on Blackout. I had listened to a lot of leaks on the internet and she had wrote them and they were great [such as "State Of Grace", "Everybody", and "What U Sippin On?"].
The most catchy songs on this album for are "Gimme More" and "Radar". "Radar" especially. It's a really fun song. "Toy Soldier" is also another favorite, it deserves to be a single [as does "Radar"]. The two songs Brit-Brit wrote are titled "Ooh Ooh Baby" and "Freakshow". I personally love both of those tracks. OOB is awesome very very catchy. "Freakshow" kinda sounds like a freakshow but its very Britney.
My personal favorite is "Heaven On Earth". This track is actually about love [and not sex such as the song right after, "Get Naked"] and is really quite sweet. It's so out of place though on this album.
There is only one song that I just never got used to and that is "Perfect Lover". It and "Get Naked" are, in my opinion, the weakest tracks.
The very last song, "Why Should I Be Sad", although great, lacks feeling. Had Britney wrote the song herself I think it would had carried more emotion.
Overall, Britney has done it again and gave us some more great music. I have been a fan since the beginning and if I haven't given up on her now I don't think I ever will. It's clear she needs help, but she will only be helped if and when she wants to be. A person has to want to help themselves.

Free Music Review: This is Britney Spears best album ever
Hit: 5 Stars

I admit it, I'm a 34 year old and yes, I listen to pop music. I have all of Britney's albums and this is by far the best - proving that yes, Britney can sing and excellent producers are key to a good album.

Along with the rest of the world, I was pleasantly surprised when she revealed her debut track, "Gimme More," which will remain in rotation in the club scene for a long time to come. "Piece of Me" is fascinating, catchy and all of us on Team Britney appreciate the @#$% off to the paps. While most of the songs are bubble gum and fruity, they're all solid and stand on their own.

"Oh, oh Baby" is sexy cool and shows off Britney's talent as a singer (something that she's not even known for these days). "Hot as Ice" is an enjoyable play on words and Britney pulls it off with heaps full of sass. "Toy Soldier" is another that should be given kudos.

It's an all around great album to work out to, dance to, and clean the house to. Upbeat, flirty, and kind of bratty. Besides the "It's Britney Bitch" in the beginning, it's pretty kid friendly - and Brit's matured (as life's been rough) since her freshman album which seems like a hundred years ago now.

I could do without the K-Fed rip, "Why Should I be Sad" but I can't complain when all but one song on the album are what I call repeaters (can listen to more than once in a car trip).

Like Madonna, Britney has proven that she may be down - but she's far from out. This album is awesome.
