Free Music Notes for BlackoutFree Music Review: Britney: Gimme MORE!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I have to admit, I have been pretty harsh on Britney with everything she has gone through in her personal life. But I have to say after listening to this album at least musically Britney is back!!
This is easily Britney's best album to date and sure to be the best album of 2007 and most likely will remain the best album of 2008 also. It seems like all the other young pop stars out there are trying to copy Britney with dance pop albums. You have Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, and others all putting out dance/pop albums but Britney is the one and only original. Those other girls owe whatever success they have to Britney and that's what makes Britney a legend.
Blackout is a very strong album and there isn't one song I don't like on it. I feel every song on the album could be a hit single. Besides the obvious hit Gimme More my favorite tracks would be Toy Soldier, Hot as Ice, and Piece of Me. However, every song on the album is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend this album to anyone who wants to hear a fun dance/pop album from the legend herself. This album leaves me saying GIMME MORE!!!!!!
Free Music Review: FIVE STARS IN EVERY WAY Hit: 5 Stars
It's been a long time since I got a CD I wanted to play more than once a day. A CD like that has to be solid (no bad songs or filler), be daring in concept and execution, and of course have a certin indescribable appeal. Not many come a long like that.
Britney's Blackout gets it. She comes out of the box and onto track one "Gimme More" in pretty stunning fashion with some strong words to begin with and then with an even stronger song. Track two "Piece of Me" gives us a glimpse of what it's like to be her in a format its hard not to sing along with. As much crap as Britney's had to take from the media, I did so want her to fire back hard and in these first two tracks gratify that desire. After that on the remaining tracks she goes to work with consistantly strong work--each song a very very good one. It's hard to pick favorites but I'd guess mine would be Gimme More, Heaven on Earth, Get Naked, Hot as Ice, Ooh Ooh Baby.
This is an outstanding comeback for a major artist at a juncture where most others would fail. Britney is not just a passing phase--she's here to stay and it looks like in a big big way.
Free Music Review: No doubt about it Hit: 5 Stars
It's Britney .....!!
She's back and in a big way. A whole lot more to this cd than most folks thought it would be (without hearing it). I knew i was on to something when i first heard "Gimme More" and that's not even the best song on "Blackout". The one that i'm really feeling in particular is "Piece of Me" where she's talking about being the target for the papparazzi and news media at every turn. She asks if they really want a piece of her.
They can't handle her or this cd as it brings something else for all the music lovers or ones that didnt know what Ms. B was capable of. It's evident on the track "Get Naked (I Got a Plan) that she's got something "else" on her mind. Along with "Freakshow" as well. Also really enjoyed "Hot As Ice" and "Perfect Lover".
Standout tracks on Blackout: "Gimme More", "Piece of Me", "Radar", "Heaven on Earth", "Get Naked (I Got a Plan)", "Freakshow" and "Hot As Ice"
Excellent cd from Britney and props to the producers and writers that helped her bring the heat back into the music scene and the energy into her music.
Free Music Review: Undisputed Queen reclaims throne of Pop Hit: 5 Stars
What can you say? You have watched her grow from girl next door to tease. She is helping tabloids fly off shelves, gave MTV's highest rated show, and even had Dr. Phil talking about her. Despite her personal struggles (and I'm pulling for her), she and her team has produced probably her BEST WORK TO DATE! She wanted a dance, club friendly album...it was delivered. Listen to Gimme More, Piece of Me, and Radar: Blackout's highlight tracks, which by the way are just the first three tracks! If you aren't shaking it or nodding your head to the beats given to you, you're brain dead or not getting it. The smooth and synthesized sound sparkles and bubbles like a bottle of crystal. The repetiveness some may find annoying works for the electronic sound. It is exactly want was needed for the Queen of Teen Beat and Pop.
Blackout delivers. Britney delivers. The work of the producers and writers certainly delivers. The power and appeal can not be fought. Just give in and buy it already.
In the meantime, keeping pulling for Britney.
Free Music Review: A hit album from a beaten down artist Hit: 5 Stars
You'll have to ignore anyone who gives the cd 1 or 2 stars, as they obviously have a predisposed obsene hatred for the artist, and are not interested in writing an actual review. Any idiot will tell you this cd is not worthy of less than 3 stars from anyone.
While this cd certainly doesn't represent the type of music I generally listen to, Britney and her huge team of musical producers pulled off something that is actually a bit ahead of the times, which will absolutely work in her favor. Much of the cd has the catchy beat, rhythm, and tempo you'll find on the most popular tracks of the current music scene, but with a unique twist that only Britney's soultry vocals can bring.
The cd is laced with potential money making singles, and I have found only one song I choose not to listen to, a rarity on any cd. I will definitely recommend this cd to anyone who enjoys good music (albeit, not music that makes you think). I hope Britney brings back some ballads on her next cd... I hope she has a next cd, for that matter.
