Free Music Notes for CircusFree Music Review: She's Baaaackk!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Soon as I heard "Womanizer" I knew that Britney was back, however I was scared "Circus" was going to be a "Blackout" all over again. Meaning, hot-tempo songs that are just good for jamming in the car throughout the whole album. Thankfully, I was scared for no reason because I can truly say that "Circus" is Britney's best album. Here's the list of Deluxe Edition Tracks with a small comment about them:
1. Womanizer- Up-beat pop-hit that was bound to break records.
2. Circus- A surprising hit that it is in a way, a new sound for Britney that fits her great.
3.Out From Under-a great slow song that should be a great hit. I was very surprised hearing this track because it is a sound Britney hasn't used in a long time.
4.Kill The Lights- a great jam that will most surely break records. Shows a bit of attitude in a good way. There's no way for someone to hear this and not like it.
5.Shattered Glass-An up-beat meaningful song, I think every girl can relate to this song.
6.If U Seek Amy- A great song. Sexy, with a bit of an attitude, one of my favs :).
7.Unusual You- Another great, slow song from this album.
8.Blur- another slow song, but with a different sound to it. Should be a hit.
9. Mmm Papi- now this is an interesting track on this album. Its definetly a car jam but not in a "Blackout" way. I feel like this is the most controversial track on this album; you'll either love it or hate it. It especially sounds out because of the previous slow songs.
10.Mannequin-A great up-beat song that America should love it.
11.Lace and Leather- Another interesting track that people seem to like.
12. My Baby-She shows us one more time, that she can make a great slow song.
13. Radar (Bonus Track)- We've heard it before on "Blackout" and we all agree that it should have been a single for that album- it being arguably the best track on that CD. Hopefully she'll be able to release it as a single with this album.
14.Rock Me In (Bonus Track)-A fun, jamming song that I hope will be able to be released as a single.
15.Phonography (Bonus TracK)- A very interesting, kinda strange track but is fun to listen to, definetly original.
Again, these are my personal opinions on the tracks. I believe her greatest hits from this album will be from (in track order) "Womanizer","Circus","Out From Under","Kill The Lights","Shattered Glass","If U Seek Amy","Unusual You","Mannequin","Radar","Rock Me In". As you can see, "Circus" has many hits.
Free Music Review: Britney gets crazy again - in a good way! Hit: 5 Stars
The best Britney album to me so far before "Circus" was "In The Zone", it was something about that album that was very layered and adventurous with its songs that made it stand out way past last years "Blackout" (also a great album but very one dimensional, and it gets old FAST).
Britney returns to her adventurous roots with "Circus", a layered, genre hopping, fun listen thats not as instantly catchy as "Blackout" but ultimately, holds up very well and is without a doubt her best album to date.
Because of how the album has a variety of different sounds, it has much more longevity than the synth heavy, distant "Blackout".
You get your dance songs, always top of the rank, and AMAZING.. Womanizer, Circus, If U Seek Amy (Pop perfection, you have to listen to this), Kill The Lights, Mannequin.
You get the ballads, Out From Under and My Baby which are very good sweet songs that is a complete joy to listen to after not having Britney Ballads for years.
And the great mid-tempo songs like the amazing Shattered Glass, Blur and Unusual You..
The only song I cant get into is Mmm Papi, but its still an OK song, I just need some time with it.
Overall, this is such a worthy purchase. Its her best album to date.
She has definitely matured as an artist and is finally coming into her own.
The Deluxe Edition has the DVD with the Womanizer video and the Making of, which I highly reccomend. PLUS the bonus songs Phonography and Rock Me In which are surprisingly great for bonus tracks.
Recommended definitely! Join the Circus today!
Free Music Review: A pleasant surprise. Hit: 5 Stars
Well, where should I start? I really enjoyed Blackout when it first came out. Well, let me rephrase that, I really enjoyed a few songs on that cd ALOT. I thought the album as a whole was kinda weak. There were some really good songs and some really awful songs. That is why I approached this cautiously. I decided to get the deluxe edition because it was the same price as the regular one, so for that it gets one star. Musically, this cd seems far surperior to Blackout for 2 reasons. For one, her voice wasn't so over-produced, and secondly, the songs seemed to flow together more. The cd doesn't jump all over the place with songs that sound totally different from each other. Out of the 14 NEW tracks, there are 6 SOLID good tracks, and a few that are ok. The good tracks, in order of cheesy goodness, from good to bad are:
1. "Unusual You" I have no idea why, but I could listen to this song on repeat for hours. Lyrically, this song is beautiful.
2. "Kill The Lights" Just a fun dance song.
3. "Womanizer"
4. "Circus"
5. "If U Seek Amy"
6. "Phonography"
Shattered Glass, Lace and Leather, and Mannequin are ok tracks as well, which brings the tally up to 9 "listenable" tracks out of the 14 new tracks, which is pretty good. Whether anyone else would think that this is a good value for their money, that is up to them to decide, but in my opinion, it's not a total waste.
Free Music Review: Definately worth is to get the two extra songs Hit: 5 Stars
I'm glad I got the edition with "Phonography" which is such a fun song. The beat is great and the sexy play on phone vernacular is hysterical. It's the perfect candy song for working out and just jamming. Britney is back!
As everyone knows, "Womanizer" kicks off this Circus with a bang and the rest of the album keeps up this frantic, fabulous pace. There are a few ballands, and as much as I love Brit, I pass on those, although her voice sounds strong and emotional, much less computerized than her last album.
Dance, dance, dance - yeah Britney - gives us dance music. "Mmmm Papi", "Circus," "Rock me In" and "Shattered Glass" are sure club hits. "Radar" is on this album, which was also on BLACKOUT, so I don't know if that was a mistake or if the label didn't feel they got their moneys worth on the last one.
Overall, it's Britney's best and I was a fan of BLACKOUT. Like Christina, she just keeps gettin' better. Can't wait for the tour!
Free Music Review: A Total Surprise. Hit: 5 Stars
I have been a Britney fan since her "Baby One More Time" album came out and stopped being a Britney fan after all the chaos she got herself into. I simply lost respect for her. I didn't even listen to her "Blackout" album because I didn't believe her music to be any good. However, it's a year after "Blackout" and deep within, I always wanted Britney to be her old self again so I gave "Circus" a try. Boy, the songs on this album are all good. I couldn't even believe it. There's only three songs or so that is "sexual" while on her "Britney" album, the entire album are about sex. This album shows a more mature side of her; she had a great team of songwriters working for her this time and they avoid writing about getting high or make out songs. The songs on this album is more related to her and what she is going through, having lost custody to her kids and all.
I recommend this album to once-Britney fans. I am starting to think I might become a Britney fan again.
