Free Music Review: Britney Fulfills Her Madonna-Sized Blonde Ambition
Hit: 5 Stars

Since Britney Spears announced a six-month retirement as 2002 closed and she prayed for more privacy, the media coverage of the global superstar has escalated. From flings with Colin Farrell to Fred Durst, and losing her virginity to posing almost-nude on the cover of Rolling Stone and Esquire, shocking the world by locking lips with Madonna at this year's VMA's and reactions to her former-lover Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me A River" video, it's safe to say that Britney's time 'out' of the spotlight was not an achievable feat. However, Britney doesn't have to pretend to be a virgin anymore, and the results show on her fourth and latest album "In The Zone."

Since she first broke five years ago Britney Spears has gone from a teen pop sensation to a global icon, shifting almost 60 million albums along the way. Whipping up controversy and grabbing headlines around the world has become somewhat of a regular occurrence for the former Mickey Mouse Club star. She's criticised everyday and lives her life in a fish bowl, while many forget that she is only a young 22 year old girl experiencing life for the very first time. A downturn in record sales seems perfectly aligned with her rise in media interest, but In The Zone will change all that. 610,000 copies were snapped up in America in its first week of general release, planting Spears firmly atop the US Billboard charts. She also became the first female artist to crash her first four albums straight into the top slot in the week they were released, but what this album tells us more than anything is that Britney Spears is far from over.

Lead single "Me Against The Music" is now already somewhat of a classic pop track. Duetting with Madonna, the two icons display girl power in the most media-hungry way possible. Both artists are helping each other boost their so-called flagging careers, and it really is working. The slick beats and immaculate production are what you can expect from most of the album, which serves as a convincing distraction over Spears' less than average vocals. Britney knows what she wants on this album, and furthermore there's no ambiguity over what zone she's in: be it suggestive lyrics or dirty giggling, she definitely does it in style. After all, sex sells - and no one knows this better than Britney herself. Even though some lines on songs such as "(I Got That) Boom Boom" - which sees Britney 'getting crunk' in a club with the Ying Yang twins - seem a little out of place, there's no denying the hit-factor.

"Showdown" is a funky slice of R'n'B with the most zesty vocal arrangement heard from Spears to date, while "Breathe On Me" might just be her greatest song to date - yes, even surpassing that one where she's dressed as a school girl in the video. What was it called again? It's a Kylie-esque dance anthem with infectious beats and saucy lyrics, and it will go down a storm in the clubs. "Early Mornin'" has a beat that simply sways with a wave of strings, so hot that you'll actually see your speakers melt - I'm serious, check it out. Production nerd Moby is on hand and it shows.

The infectious "Toxic" sees Britney euphoric with carnal delight in a song that sounds totally original to anything she has ever done beforehand. With lyrics such as "I'm addicted to you, don't ya know that you're toxic," it's hard to realise what the song is actually about - and that's where the genius lies; as with many Britney songs, you can't differentiate what she's singing about. Here it could be about a guy, drugs, cigarettes or alcohol. The song went to No.1 in the UK and became Britney's first Billboard Top 10 Hit for years.

"Outrageous" is an R Kelly produced number that has a hot club feel to it, with an odd melody that will stay in your head for hours after. "Touch Of My Hand" is Spears' most overtly-sexual song to date. Bubbling beats lie underneath a belly of boiling hot lyrics, that sizzle and explode halfway through in a glorious display of independence and female sexuality. "The Hook Up" sees Britney influenced by the recent dance hall craze that has captured acts such as Beyonce, Lumidee and - most notably - Sean Paul. It's a fair attempt, but doesn't really fit with Britney's new style and image. "Shadow" is a great ballad and actually gives me something interesting to listen to while I'm depressed. However, the song seems out of place on this album.

"Brave New Girl" is the most explicit declaration of independence on the album, as Britney raps on a pure pop bubblegum track that seems born to be on a Legally Blonde soundtrack. The other ballad on the album comes in the form of "Everytime," and is rather emotional as many say it's Britney's reply to Justin's comments on her. A drippy piano and just Britney's tearful voice fill the song with a tale of heartbreak that will bring a tear to the eyes of Britney's hardcore fans. It actually comes from the bottom of her heart, and her voice doesn't sound half bad either.

OVERALL GRADE: 10/10

Britney Spears is an entertainer, pure and simple. She hasn't got an incredible voice like Christina Aguilera, but that's because Christina is a singer and nothing more. Britney has the stage presence to blow anyone away - that's why she steals the show at almost every awards show she performs on. Whether it be cavorting with a snake or ripping off black suits, she does it incredibly well. She knows how to work the masses, and Madonna has recently realised this. I won't lie, I'm a big fan of Britney, and I'm probably be off to see her in concert in May with my more-embarassed mates as I dance in the aisles, hoping my idol will see me trying to attract her attention. In The Zone is a successful evolution in Britney's Madonna-sized blonde ambition, which reinforces her as one of the most intriguing and fascinating stars in the world.

Free Music Review: You Gotta Get In the Zone
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't understand why people who review this album are quick to say something negative. May it be that you don't like this genre of music, it shouldn't give you the right to put down a woman who is 26-times platinum... Britney Spears returns after two years with an outstanding album, which is bound to produce hit after hit! Everyone can count on me to break it down...and with all honesty, you'll understand why you gotta get "In the Zone".

#1 Me Against the Music featuring Madonna (3:43)-The first single to be released from the album, at first, didn't show as much promise. It sounds like everything that Britney Spears has done before. Madonna is featured, which doesn't make for the
right blend in vocals. Yes, we have all seen the video, we have "the kiss" burned in our memories, but it probably wasn't wise to have released this particular song. (6/10)

#2 (I Got That) Boom Boom featuring the Ying Yang Twins (4:51)-This was unexpected, but I like the song! We don't know if this means that she'll be collaborating with other "Southern boys" out there (think Ludacris and Jermaine Dupri), but it is definitely one of the standout tracks. The bass line is awesome
and the extended intro and bridge are sure to make this a hit single...SHOUTIE!! (8/10)

#3 I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) (Unreleased in U.S.) (3:22)-This song is hot! I suggest right now that you get the import CD from Mexico that contains this song. The beat might bring to mind No Doubt's "Hella Good", and is definitely worth searching for. (8/10)

#4 Showdown (3:17)-Call it the reaction from Justin
Timberlake's "Cry Me a River", "The Showdown" is one of those tracks that portrays Britney's sexuality. This song has a great beat, but her sound on vocals can get annoying at times. (7/10)

#5 Breathe on Me (3:43)-It is very evident that Britney has been influenced by Madonna in more than one way. The best song on the album, in my opinion, is "Breathe on Me", a club track that is similar to a cross between Kylie Minogue's "Come Into My World" and Madonna's "Erotica" album. I love this song...and I
can't wait to get to the clubs to hear this song play. (10/10)

#6 Early Mornin' (3:45)-Produced by Moby, this is another track that is awesome. All about partying at night, it's sure to bring to back memories of the times we've all "partied to the break of dawn." Something different for Britney is, of course, the melody, but the outcome is brilliant. (9/10)

#7 Toxic (3:21)-This song blows my mind! It leaves me speechless. I'm sure that it will be one of the upcoming singles to be released from the album. "Toxic" has a
very infectious string arrangement, which is noticeably clear in the intro andthroughout the song. Though it sounds comical, there won't be anything to laugh about when she breaks records with song. (10/10)

#8 Outrageous (3:21)-This is the cut! "Outrageous" has been blowin' up on radio stations here in Chicago. With a beat that is just truly the genuine mind of R. Kelly (think "Snake" and "Thoia Thoing"), Britney crossed into another level of talent when she showed us that she can record an R&B song and still sound flawless in it. Just wait for the remixes! (9/10)

#9 Touch of My Hand (4:19)-This is just to prove that Britney isn't a little girl anymore! She had no problem expressing the thought of indulging in oneself. What's clear here is that she is breaking barriers that only Janet Jackson wasn't
afraid of doing. Is there a possible collaboration with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis? Could be...but nonetheless, as long as Britney keeps exploring herself, we're all bound to be "coming" back for more! (10/10)

#10 Don't Hang Up (Unreleased in U.S.) (4:02)-Yes, another sexual, but very innocent, track. "And she's coming too..." A song about not wanting to hang up the phone with her lover, Britney makes it obvious that she will continue to do whatever to make us "delirious". Love the beat and keyboards! (10/10)

#11 The Hookup (3:54)-The REGGAE song! Where's Sean Paul when you need him! "Certified quality..." YES! With a traditional Jamaican rhythm, Britney sings about dancing and "taking it lower, lower to the floor". A classic jam in the clubs. (9/10)

#12 The Answer (Unreleased in U.S.) (3:54)-THIS IS THE BEST SONG BY BRITNEY! Off of the Australian import, "The Answer" is the greatest song ever recorded by her. I don't even know where to start. I guess what I like the most is that Britney experimented with rhythms from South America. Everything from the safari sounds to the woodpipes that remind me of the Incans and the Aztecs, this song leaves me speechless! (11/10)

#13 Shadow (3:45)-A haunting melody about feeling someone's presence, despite them not being there. Very beautiful, but it is another track that sounds like something Madonna would have recorded. (Think of anything from the "Something to
Remember" album). Regardless, it is still another standout track. (10/10)

#14 Brave New Girl (3:30)-My least favorite track, it sounds like something that should've been left on Pink's "M!ssundaztood" album. Britney tries her hand at rap, and inadvertently fails. Not worth listening to...should've been replaced by one of the songs from the imports! (3/10)

#15-Everytime (3:53)-The final track on the album, "Everytime" is a luscious ballad which explains her true feelings about losing someone, even though she still loves them. Bound to be another single, it is a great closing to the album! (11/10)

Bonus-Me Against the Music featuring Madonna (Rishi Rich's Desi Kulcha Mix) (4:30)-Way better than the album track, the remix has distinctive Indian rhythms that definitely save the track from total devastation. (10/10)

Free Music Review: Britney's Back !...Better Sexier & Badder Than Eva.!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

In the year of 2003 Britney returned to the music scene from her wild year of antics with the infamous MTV kiss with Madonna. In November 2003 Britney released her stunning Cd `In The Zone'. Britney released her best album yet. She transformed herself from a sexy young teenager to a provocative young woman. In the Zone takes listeners though a journey of different styles of music. From Hard hitting dance tracks, to dirty ghetto Hip Hop to viby trance tracks to beautiful peaceful ballads. This album shows Britney at her best. This album made critics label her "The New Madonna".

Me Against The Music - This is the lead single from the album. It is the infamous duet featuring Madonna. It is a hard hitting club dance track any is very different from what is on the radios these days. The track is just about being in a club and being oblivious to everyone and freestyling. I couldn't think of a better way for a come back song. Britney could have released a typical R&B track for her return, but she wanted to be unique. She has definetly succeeded. This is my 2nd Favourite track on the album and one of my favourite songs of all time. 10/10

(I Got That) Boom Boom - This track is an Up-tempo Hip Hop track perfect for the clubs. The track has also has an Indian vibe to it. This track features the Ying Yang Twins, which gives the track a dirty ghetto, feel to it. This song is my 3rd Favourite song on the album, and is one of the best Hip Hop songs I have ever heard. 10/10

Showdown - The famous UK producers Bloodshy & Avant produced this track. It is a great sexy dance track which features Britney whispering "I don't wanna be a tease. Would you undo my zipper please" This track is done very well. Again very unique. 9/10

Breathe On Me - This song is very club-savvy orientated and is one of the most sensual tracks on the album. The song has a HOT beat and is reminiscent to Kylie's Can't Get You Out Of My Head. This track describes the intensity of a relationship so hot that they don't even need to touch, just breathe. This is my Favourite track on the album and one of my favourite songs of all time. I can automatically see this song go #1 in Europe if it is released. 10/10

Early Mornin - The second this track commences you will automatically know that it is Moby produced. This track is very sexy and has a trance feel to it. The song is very vibey and is about the next morning after a big night out. 8.5/10

Toxic - This is the second single from the album which is produced by Bloodshy & Avant. The song is HOT and fits Britney perfectly. The track is a hard hitting dance track which could easily be used as the theme song to Alias or the next bond movie. This is the track responsible for rising her album sales all around the world. Critics are describing it the best song Britney has released since I'm A Slave For You. I love this track so much because of its uniqueness. 10/10

Outrageous - This is a typical R&B penned track. The second the song commences you will automatically realise it is R Kelly produced. This song is again perfect for the clubs and has an Indian vibe to it. The chorus is very catchy. 10/10

Touch Of My Hard -This is the most sensual song on the album. This song is a beautiful dance ballad reminiscent to Madonna's The Power Of Goodbye & Janet's That's The Way Love Goes.(...) The song is Britney's most mature song to date and has a sexy vibe to it. This is definitely a stand out track on the album. 10/10.

The Hook-Up - Redzone, the famous team behind the Britney/Madonna duet, produced this track. This song has an R&B reggae feel to it and is fairly uptempo. This Is what we call a filler track and one of the less memorable on the album. 5/10

Shadow - This track is a beautiful ballad produced by The Matrix. This is very reminiscent to Avril's I'm With You. This track shows Britney's vocals at its best. I personally think this is her best ballad since Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know. 10/10

Brave New Girl - This song brings back the days Britney was innocent. In every album she has to bring out the stupidness in her. She has done exactly that in this track. This track is very pop driven and could be used as the theme song to Legally Blonde. I personally think it is The worst song on the album and one of the worst songs I have ever heard. 1/10 The only reason I give it a 1 is because it is Britney.

Every Time - This song is very peaceful and pleasant. It tells the story of heartbreak. The track features a beautiful harmony and goes well with the mood of the sound. She sings in lower key although it fits the song perfectly. Again another brilliant ballad from Britney. 10/10

Me Against The Music (Remix) - This is remix to the First Single. The song was remixed by Peter Rishi and an Indian vibe has been added to it. The song is still very clubby and is probably one of the best remixes I have ever heard. 10/10

The Answer - This is the Australian bonus track and is produced by P Diddy. The song has an R&B mid tempo flow to it. I really liked this song, but I was disappointed at the same time. When I heard the idea of Britney & P Diddy working together I was expecting an up tempo R&B track, although it was completely the opposite. 9/10

Don't Hang Up - This is another Australian bonus track. The song is mid tempo and again has an R&B pop flow to it.This song is about Phone Sex. This song was produced by the same team behind Brave New Girl. I personally don't like this song and think she should never work with Brian & Josh again. 3/10.

ALL IN ALL I LOVE THIS CD AND I DON'T THINK IT COULD HAVE GOTTEN ANY BETTER. THIS ALBUM IS VERY UNQIUE AND IS BRITNEY'S BEST ALBUM SO FAR. OVERALL I GIVE IT A 10/10

Free Music Review: Britney: In A Whole New Zone...
Hit: 5 Stars

Britney Spears, everyone knows her. They know the kiss, the marriage, the publicity, but do they really know her. Britney has done an outstanding job on her 4th studio album 'In The Zone', which is predicted to sell over 4 million copies in the US alone beating out it's precedor 'Britney'. 'In The Zone' debuted at #1 and has had consistent sales. Maybe it's because she has ditched the teen pop image leaving behind longtime producer Max Martin. Maybe it's because she co-wrote 9/13 songs on the album. Maybe it's because the singles on this album have done so well on the radio. 'Me Against The Music' reached #35 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #2 in the UK. But, 'Toxic' was the real hit on this album going to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 & giving Britney her 4th UK #1. Toxic was an anthem for the new pop world. Now her 3rd single 'Everytime' shocked everyone. People who had never listened to Britney before opened ears for this song. Toxic gained Britney a lot of fans but, Everytime gave Britney a lot of respect. Everytime is Britney's 5th UK #1 & is steadily climbing the Billboard Hot 100 at #15. Britney's 4th single 'Outrageous' has yet to be released due to a knee injury making the video. From there she has had to cancel her tour, & postpone this new single with a new version feat. Snoop Dogg. Britney has also gotten engaged. People look at her as if shes a robot and has no feelings but Britney cant go on Overdrive all the time. I assume after Outrageous & a possible 5th single (I Got That Boom Boom or Breathe On Me), Britney will take a break sit down in a new relationship and come back fresh and new. To shock the world and show she is the best female entertainer this world has ever known.

In The Zone

1.) Me Against The Music feat. Madonna (Trixster & Penelope Magnet) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: Very different from the old Britney. Madonna gives this song life and the dances in the video and stage performance are edgy and new.

2.) (I Got That) Boom Boom feat. Ying Yang Twins (Roy 'Royalty' Hamilton)
Review: Britney doing hip-hop? Is not a bad thing. This song is not cheesy as some might think. Ying Yang Twins were a great addition to this song. And Britney has reached the Urban radio with this song.

3.) Showdown (Bloodshy & Avant) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: This used to be my favorite song off the album. I love the way it is. The instrumental and vocals fit perfectly. Sounds like its like screw everyone ill do what I want.

4.) Breathe On Me (Mark Taylor)
Review: This has to be one of the best Britney songs. It's like Kylie but sounds better and different. It's so sexual. Britney really makes this song sound good.

5.) Early Mornin' (Moby) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: Moby & Britney! I never saw this coming. Most Britney fans dont like this song that much but, I think it's great. It's got a great beat and is very trip-hop.

6.) Toxic (Bloodshy & Avant)
Review: Words cannot describe how holy this song is to the music world. The strins, the chorus, its a totally new and different Britney. The video is amazing. It's so dark but, still pop at heart.

7.) Outrageous (R. Kelly)
Review: More hip-hop. Except I like this one better than Boom Boom. It has the beat, the lyrics, & R. Kelly is just amazing.

8.) Touch Of My Hand (Jimmy Harry & Shep Soloman) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: This song is very good. The asian music adds to it and it's another stage of Britney. She has done something no one has done in a long time. Talked about things no one has talked about.

9.) The Hook Up (Trixster & Penelope Magnet) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: Reggae. Yes, Britney also pulls reggae off. This is such a dance-able song. I love it.

10.) Shadow (The Matrix) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: The 1st ballad on the album and Britney sings it so well. She has broken out of her shell.

11.) Brave New Girl (Brian & Josh) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: This is pop song on the album. Not really my favorite but adds the icing on the cake.

12.) Everytime (Guy Sigsworth) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: The best song on the album, written by Britney 2 1/2 years ago, and still damn good. It has a dark element to it. and it shows another side of Britney.

13.) Me Against The Music feat. Madonna (Rishi Rich's Desi Kulcha Remix) (Trixster & Penelope Magnet, Rishi Rich) (Co-Written By: Britney Spears)
Review: More middle-eastern than the original version but, still good

B-Sides

The Answer (P. Diddy) - P. Diddy produced. This is such a good song. It's more urban than other ballads. I like it. Bonus Track on UK Edition of 'In The Zone'.

Don't Hang Up - Ballad. It's a very good song. I like it a lot. Bonus Track on UK Edition of 'In The Zone'.

(I've Just Begun) Havin' My Fun - This is pop just like 'Brave New Girl'. It still adds an element of pop to the album.

Girls & Boys (Linda Perry) - I love this song. Linda Perry produced it. And she did a damn good job. This is like 'Breathe On Me', 'Early Mornin', & 'Touch Of My Hand' mixed together in a blender. The beats and vocals are awsome.

Overall 'In The Zone' is one of Britney's biggest successes. Seeing other artist come & go. Britney has staying power and will be around for a long time. The 5th album is gonna be awsome.

PS - if you dont like this album, your lying.
