Free Music Notes for Howlin' At The MoonFree Music Review: Light up a cigar, dim the lights, pour me up some beer, and sit back and be amazed Hit: 5 StarsMan O Man! Where did these guys come from?
Grooveyard is solid again with a killer release of a band that is not on the "mainstream" radar, and that is why I am going to allow this disc to become so scratched up, that I have to order another.
Grooved to it on my patio, with a fine cigar and a Shiner Bock in the rain, and just keep on drinking! Thanks guys for the blues hang over.
This CD should be a 10, not a five!
I want more Buddaheads
Cowboy Craig Corpus Christi, Texas Blues bound!
Free Music Review: A Classic Hit: 5 Starsj bone here does a great review I agree wholeheartedly. The songs are great the playing heavy withiut being heavy. very easy on the ears. The kind of cd you end up singing along with.Still has the bluesrock attitude goin on.
Free Music Review: STELLAR BLUES/ROCK ALBUM... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Hit: 5 StarsThis is an exceptionally solid guitar driven Blues/Rock album, not a bad song in the bunch. As the album cover alludes to this is GUITAR Blues/Rock. If your looking for Keb' Mo' style blues you best take your candy a** elsewhere, this album rocks! This album does deserve a five star rating, and is certainly worth your fifteen bucks.
Free Music Review: they call themselves the buddaheads because they can... Hit: 5 Starsi will tell you why alan "b.b. chun king" mirikitani calls his band the buddaheads...because he can. he is also the best guitarist that you never heard of, on the planet. he is the best talent i've stumbled upon accidentally ever. he is and should be considered a guitar god. not only does this guy know his way around a strat, but he knows his way around a well written song too. the "howlin' at the moon" cd is the best cd i've bought in ten years. this is the best electric blues cd i know of. the only cd i remember playing as much as this is zakk wylde's "book of shadows",because i ussually listen to my blues on the heavier side. the buddaheads sound is hendrix inspired, but theres also a robert cray with a touch of eric clapton thing goin' on. exspecially in alan's vocals, which are silky smooth and his lyrics can pull you right into the song with him. every track on this disc is excellent and you will want to play it all the way, not skip through. come to find out this cd is a compilation of tracks taken from the buddaheads three independant releases. if i had to pick my favorate tracks i would have to say "train train",which is an original and not a blackfoot cover, and "company graveyard". and only because they are a little heavier than the rest of the tracks. this is the type of guitar heavy cd you can throw on and you wont hear your ol' lady yell turn that crap down befor the first song is even over. my ol lady wanted to know who i was listening to instead. that is because alans guitar playing is a mixture of finess and precision,as well as strength and power.his solo's are some of the tastiest guitar i have ever heard. you will find no needless shredding on this disc, nothing but class. one killer highlight, is the fist track "long way down" starts out and fades out at the end sounding like the song is being played on a scratched up vinyl record. oh my god, the first time i heard it i almost fell out of my kings chair. i thought i was having a flashback. hell, i even spilled the bong. it caught me that off gaurd. no true guitar head should be without this cd. exspecially if electric blues is your thing.you also get your moneys worth-the disc is 78 minutes of "silky smooth" guitar rock. i will not give a 5 star rating to a cd unless i like to listen to every track all the way through.this cd falls into that catigory, and i play it over and over. there is nothing else i can recomend more- candy for the ears.
Free Music Review: Don't let the name of the band and title of the cd fool you...This is quality stuff! Hit: 5 StarsI'm a big Electric Blues/Rock guitar fan and this cd is in my top ten. Why they are unheard of is beyond me. The guitar playing is excellent and very cool vocals. It is a shame that CDNOW/Amazon does not have song clips for these guys so you could get a taste of there music. Without a doubt the tribute song to Hendrix- "Dance Maria" is the best. If you enjoy both Hard Rock and Blues, you'll love this disk. Also check out their other cd "Mumbo Jumbo", also excellent(see my review).
