Free Music Review: BUDDY GUY DVD MUST HAVE FOR ALL FANS

After watching the complete dvd with all the performance footage, both myself and my wife were in awe and we have seen Buddy three times. One of the shows he came right to us on one of his audience walks, jamming right in our faces! He was totally amazing, smiling all the time. Anyhow, the dvd made us reminice of the shows. The early footage with Junior Wells is good quality and really does justice to all the perfomances. I think the reason it is a good production is the fact that it is produced by Experience Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix's Estate business) and Eddie Kramer is the engineer on the whole production. Buddy tells some great stories during the interview. The cd's give a good overview of Buddy's career with some nice previously unreleased tracks. I would pay just for the DVD, so the bonus is the cd's!!Free Music Review: If you love the Blues, you need this.

This is an incredibly awesome collection of the Blues. If you love the blues, get it. If you have not yet been bitten by the Blues, this will do it! I can't stop listening to it! The "new" songs by Buddy Guy are great! No disappointment here. If I would have paid twice as much, I would still be very happy with my investment. It is a "must have" for everyone who loves music, and for Blues Lovers, don't even think about not adding this to your collection. The DVD is a mighty piece of history and also full of great music. This collection is not only Buddy Guy, we have (young and old) Eric Clapton, Junior (Hoodoo Man Blues) Wells, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, the list goes on. The sound is great and over and over again you will feel the rush of Great Blues.Free Music Review: Kudos to Legacy!!

Now this is what I am talking about!! A quality product that makes everyone happy: both for newbies and long time Buddy fans like me. If you are a Buddy Guy aficionado like me, you probably have already 85% of this material. So the question is: is it worth it? YES!!! Not only because they have included some outsanding never before released outtakes, but mainly because there is a great DVD included that alone makes your money worth. Legacy really went the extra mile to make a great DVD and not just a throwaway like they did with the SRV box. Plus the booklet includes some great photos. Can this mans career be compressed down to three CDs?
In my opinion no. He is one of "THE GREATs". But this set gives you a very good sampling of some of his best work.
Every song included is good. Not a dud in the whole bunch.
The extra DVD included is a big plus for all us Buddy Guy fans. And the little booklet that's stapled into the box cover has some good extra material also.
All in all - a very good package that is well worth the money.
I does make me want to fill out my collection and get more of his music.

This package is advertised as a Boxed Set that includes a bonus DVD. For casual Buddy fans this may ring true, but for die hard Buddy fans it's all about the DVD. The documentary is the best ever about Buddy and His life. With extensive live footage throughout, you will sit in a state of awe as the "BEST GUITARIST" ever, frantically expels doses of raw emotion both vocally and with his guitar. The collection of songs on the CD's are great,but the price of the box set would be worth it, even if only the DVD was included. He's that moving "LIVE".
