I am more of a blues purest and prefer the older traditional material.Of the three cd's.It goes from the earlier material to the later music. The first one is fantastic the second is great and the third ok.The dvd is put together very well with some quality music clips and very interesting documentary.Since great blues musicians have very little out there on dvd's it is absolutely a must have.Free Music Review: Great music, but surprisingly the DVD isn't DVD quality

Nice survey of Guy's career. Three CD's full of some of Guy's best. The DVD contains an extensive interview and good concert footage, but beware! The DVD is 4:3 standard definition or letterbox within 4:3 throughout. It shouldn't be a surprise that concert footage covering 30+ years would largely be standard def, but it is surprising that nothing on this DVD is formatted for widescreen.Free Music Review: good set but...

This box set would be good for any casual fan of Guy's. Not a lot of new material here. Any serious fan already has much of the three audio discs. The DVD is good but Guy can be found on other DVD's. Unreleased cuts, alternate versions, rare or unreleased live cuts would have made it better. Buddy Guy is a national treasure and deserves more than this slight overview of his long career.Free Music Review: Great Buddy Guy Boxed Set!

We thoroughly enjoyed this 3-CD set with companion DVD.
Enjoyed hearing Buddy's early days, touring with no cash,
and seeing the "Legends" stage in the background.
It's amazing to have a collection of this music, some
not previously available, at a good price, too.

I bought this for my pops for Christmas this year. All of his cd's are always all over the place so I tought this would be a nice package for him. It contains many highlights of his his career. A must have for a Buddy Guy/Blues lover.
