Ordered this album off amazon a few weeks ago and now I have it ,I'm playin' it to death.Bought "Damn Right,I've Got The Blues"a few years ago and I thought that was a very good album.He has a couple of heavy hitters[ Clapton and Randolph] on Skin Deep but I think he keeps it real.It's a Buddy Guy record and his style just oozes off it.I am hoping to run into him at his blues club Legends in a couple of weeks.Free Music Review: The One and Only!!!

God Bless Buddy Guy...he's one in a million. Approaching 72 years young and on fire. As one reviewer noted, he walked on stage in Shine A Light and had the Stones in awe...amazing performance there and it carried over to Skin Deep. Buddy Guy plays with a wide-open huge smile which you can hear thru his CD. His licks are right on, his collaborators are up to speed, his own song-writing is compelling, & I hope he can keep this up. His generation of blues players is thinning, & EC, eg, doesn't work as hard, & hasn't.
This is an excellent blues guitar player playing really well!

I love Buddy's work - and this album reflects the maturity I love in the great blues players. This album has all the right stuff - edgy rocky blues to classically styled tunes. I have seen Buddy twice in concert (BB King's and Lincoln Center/Legends of the Blues) and have almost all his albums, and this album is SMOKIN' HOT just like his performances! I've had it for just a few days and can't stop playing it (too bad my wife and kids are going to disown me). BUY THIS ALBUM AND CRANK IT UP!!!
