Free Music Notes for Down the Line: The Rarities (Dig) (Slip)Free Music Review: Unearthed Treasures Hit: 5 Stars
The release of Buddy Holly material over the years on CD has been a little sparse, but is getting better; so with the release of this set and some others in the last couple years, Holly fans have plenty to celebrate about. This release is a treasure trove of alternate takes, false starts, hard to find cuts and other wonderful and interesting parts of the Holly catalog that have been hidden for years. The sound quality of the recordings varies from bad to beautiful, but first rate for the most part. Some things like the "Apartment" and "Garage" tapes have been previously available only on bootleg. But historical significance aside, it is the quality of Holly's performances that grab you. There are glimpses of greatness in almost every cut. Some of them are sheer head turners. It wets my appetite for more!
Free Music Review: Spectacular release for the fans Hit: 5 Stars
Having been a fan of Buddy for 25 years now, I have collected a sizable collection of cds, lps, bootlegs, and recordings of Buddy Holly- but none compares to the sound quality found on this long overdue release. Simply spectacular. Listening to the apartment tape recordings on this set is like Buddy sitting right in front of you singing and playing his guitar. Still somewhat ironic though that we had to wait until 50 years after his death to finally be able to hear this. Luckily I was born in 1973, otherwise I might've not lived long enough to enjoy these!
Free Music Review: Lubbock Loved and Supported Buddy! I knew him. Hit: 5 Stars
Texas Poker Wisdom
I just finished a ton of research on Buddy Holly, whom I knew. He had a radio show, performances, and tons of recording right here in Lubbock. I just wrote an article, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Joe Ely and the Cotton Club, available at www.virtualubbock.com
Some of hese recordings were done at the radio stations that allowed Buddy and his pals the run of the joint. Lubbock really supported Buddy! Elvis did too!

Free Music Review: THE BEST!!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
From the first time I heard Buddy, I loved his style and his voice.I think I have every recording that was ever published, and like many other Buddy Holly fans still miss him.
He was taken from us just as he was just reaching his peak, and any of his recordings are well worth buying.
He was, and STILL IS THE BEST!!!
Free Music Review: Finally!! Hit: 5 Stars
50 years after his untimely death comes some real rarities. Most have been available on bootleg compilations for years, but there are some nice surprises as the early Buddy And Bob stuff undubbed. For those that want the best sound (like me) and collect Buddy's music, this is a must own collection.
