Free Music Notes for BugaloosFree Music Review: I love singing these tunes. Hit: 5 Stars
After purchasing the dvd and going down great childhood memories , I was glad to see that a cd of the songs were available. I am pleased with the sound quality, and have two friends who want this cd. Yet I do agree that the demo playbacks that was used on the actual show should have been added to this set as well, but there harmonies were just as superior to the Mamas and the Papas , as well as the early days of the Bee Gees. Caroline's lead vocals songs are great too , she sang beautifully as she was (and still is)."Just the memeory stays around" is the only track on this cd I believe was not ever played on the show. But I still love songs, like "For A friend" , and "It's new to you". so put on your disc , and relive the beauty of Tranquility Forest over again.

Free Music Review: excellent Hit: 4 Stars
Even though rock was booming in the 1960s, it was, mostly, not in mainstream entertainment. The Beau Brummels were on the Flintstones, but program music was the white bread and definitively not rock
That changed with Sgt Pepper and Peter Max proverbial wallpaper all over. By about 1969, youth culture was selling screwdrivers. Tye dye hamburgers. Paisley hot water heaters.
Bugaloos was a cartoon that took this to heart. This music is not rock and roll, or is it? Those coral voices had all the silk and shine of the Letterman, but the music is a whole different insect.
With a rock bounce if not impulse, this music works as well as Lemon Pipers "Green Tamborine" or any Association hit. It is hip while being (1970) safe--youth music soft as baby's skin, handmade for a culture still getting used to TV married couples in the same bed and not yet ready to hear "pregnant" on the tube.
But today, Buggaloos works as music, and if you find this all a-wobbly, go back and watch the episodes of the Brady Bunch on the brink of family crisis--Tiger has stolen Cindy's dolly, and Greg does not want the girls in the clubhouse.
Heavy, man, heavy. But is Carol "......EXPECTING........?"
Free Music Review: Surprisingly solid, for an acquired taste! Hit: 4 Stars
Yes, budget packaging contrasts with the import price. However, one gets their money's worth with this reissue. With arrangements by Al Capps (think Bobby Sherman's hits....it even sounds like some of the same session players backing the quartet) and the vocals of four unknowns (separately or harmonizing as a group), it all gels. Good sound quality, though VERY minor problems are audible; this would be due to the tape's condition, and not the remastering. The feeling of these tracks falls somewhere between the recordings of the Monkees and the Archies, and to good effect. If only bonus tracks featuring music from the show that didn't make it to record were included (even if they had to be dubbed from the original video masters), this set would be perfect! Anyway, it's a good buy, no matter how long it runs. More enduring than Jack Wild and a talking flute (that looks like a pretzel rod)! All the best, Brother Fang.
Free Music Review: Not what I expected Hit: 3 Stars
If you are as familiar with the songs from the Bugaloos TV series as I am, you may be somewhat disappointed with this CD. The versions of the songs are not the same as on the episodes. There is different production, instrumentation, and mixing, including on the vocal tracks. While the essence of the songs is the same (and I do enjoy them), I would have preferred to have a CD with the songs as they were heard on the show.
