Free Music Notes for LettersFree Music Review: The Man Continues to Amaze Hit: 5 Stars
Emotionally-charged lyrics, intricate musicianship, 70s style arrangements, biting wit and humor. That's Butch Walker. Unlike any other artist out there right now. "Letters" is his labor of love. His lyrics are unconventional and unique, yet the songs seem familiar even on the first listen. Instantly relatable and impossible to resist, especially with all those sing-along choruses. Easily the best work of his amazing career, drawing from influences like Big Star, Nick Drake, The Cure, Damien Rice, Cheap Trick, and even some Elvis Costello. Butch has made one of the best albums of 2004.
Free Music Review: No One Better Than Butch! Hit: 5 Stars
My experience is not unusual: Saw Butch open for Avril Lavigne's BONEZ tour in 2004, became an instant fan and it's only become more intense. I bought this CD on the night of the Avril concert, and have listened to it pretty much 3 or 4 times a week, without exception. He did spoil me for Avril, though. I couldn't enjoy her set after seeing his, and I'm not easily won over.
If you haven't heard his stuff, then do it now. You won't be sorry. (his new album, "The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and The Let's Go Out Tonights" is another huge favorite!)
Free Music Review: BUTCH ROCKS!! Hit: 5 Stars
I can't say enough good things about Butch and Marvelous 3. This album is amazing but so is all the others. This one is a bit more mellow compared to any of the others, but Butch still does a outstanding job of delivering kick ass rock on a golden platter. If you get a chance to see him live, i highly recommened it, since listening to him on cd does him no justice what so ever. The vocal range on this man will knock your socks off. Plus, he delivers a kick ass stage performance that so many other bands lack these days. Butch is the ulimate rock star!!
Free Music Review: Rock Vocal Power!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a fan of Butch's since I saw him open for collective soul way back when I was in highschool, that was when he was with the Marvelous 3....I have endured the break-up of the 3, waiting for news on his first solo effort, people not knowing what i was when i listend to Marvie, having to drive 50 miles just to buy the cd......Butch has never let me down, he is always amazing...With this newest epic of his journeys through the halls of rock he did just what I expected, he blew my mind with this heart felt "letter" to all his fans.......ROCK ON!!!
Free Music Review: Fantastic Hit: 5 Stars
I had never heard of Butch Walker before I went to an Avril Lavigne concert, that he was opening. To be honest, he was so much better than Avril. I had to buy this cd because he was such a good performer. Latley, I have been buying cd's that I knew one of the songs and hoped the others would be good too. The problem is, they wern't. This cd, however, is great, almost all of the songs on it are really good. I highly recomend this to everyone, even if you are thinking that because he opened for Avril Lavinge, he can't be good.....He is.
