Canadian Music Store Free Music Notes for Live at Royal Albert Hall 1971Free Music Review: Excellent Performance--Poor Sound Quality
If you are expecting the sort of sound quality displayed on the live cuts on "Untitled," you're going to be disappointed. The quality of the performance is excellent; the mix is not. For example, see if you can hear the guitars (especially Clarence White's) on "Lover of the Bayou." Because this version of the Byrds is one of my favorite bands ever (McGuinn, White, Batten, Parsons) I'm still glad I bought it--but a little warning about the sound quality should have gone out with the publicity on this project. |
