I bought this CD since the sampler sounded tempting.
Once it arrived I listened to it and I found something curious: I had to listen to it a couple of times before I finally got it.
It's not that I didn't liked it. I enjoyed it a lot, but it was not that easy to "get".
If you are into Brazilian music as much as I am you'll probably think that nothing new can be found, but, you are -as I was- wrong.
This is, indeed, something new. It's not Bossa Nova, but it's close. It's not Electro, but it's close. It's not jazz, but it's close.
It's C?U. I can't find other way to describe it.
It's something different, highly recommended for those who like experiencing new music...

I first heard this CD on the way to Brazil. I met a guy in the plane and he had the songs on his iPod! I fell in love with it for the first time!!! I love all songs! First I did not like her English on the Bob Marley song, but then I heard the song played by Bob Marley and I prefer with hear singing!!! Her voice is beautiful, the words are very sweet!!! I highly recommend this CD. In Brazil almost nobody knows about this CD. Thanks Starbucks or I would never heard this CD!Free Music Review: Now Classic Addition to My Music Collection

This is the first time I've ever felt obligated to write a review about anything on Amazon. And this is why:
To me a classic album is one in which the majority of songs are amazing. Something that I don't just not mind listening to but something that I look forward to listening to. But NEVER have I found an album where EVERY song is beautiful, complex, melodic, and creative. I discovered Ceu from a free song download on itunes. After hearing that one song I purchased the album and haven't been able to put it down since. Everytime I speak to a friend of family member I tell them about Ceu. I'm not sure an album can be one's new love, but I think this one is mine. Listen to it. Buy it. Enjoy it. Share it. (and buy the remixes! they're just as wonderful :-)

I'll start by saying that I have not been this excited about a singer in a very long time! C?U is a blend of so many musical influences. When I listen to her silky smooth and sultry voice with a backdrop of Samba, Afro-Beat, Jazz, Soul, Reggae, and Electronica inspired music.....I'm transported immediately into music heaven (C?U literally means heaven). C?U is leading a revolution in Brazilian-Sao Paolo Underground Music! Mark my words friends, we will be listening to a lot more music from this region in the future (us true music lovers anyway). In a country where music is revered, Brazil's rich cultural diversity is reflected in C?U's sound. Amazing! I am totally smitten with her and her music!!!! If this is what globalization will bring to us all, I am ALL FOR IT!!!!!!
