Free Music Review: Classic Hits for Those of Us Who Remember the 70s
Hit: 4 Stars

Breaker breaker good buddy...

I generally do not enjoy country music. However, in 1980 (or so) my brother made me a tape with this album on one side and the Beach Boys Endless Summer on the other. I loved it! I listened to it ALL the time. From Washington to Minnesota and back. All summer. ALL the time. Then it wore out. Imagine how excited I am that I once again get to lose myself in these classics of the CB era.

The songs are great and the lyrics are pretty satirical and funny. Some of them are just really pretty songs.

I recommend it to anyone who enjoys country, or is looking for a blast from the past.

Free Music Review: Wolf Creek Pass
Hit: 4 Stars

Just returned from our vacation to visit some relatives and drove over Wolf Creek twice. It hasn't changed from when I was a little girl, snowed on us going over and the DOT was blowing up a bolder on the way back. We tried to find this CD in Pagosa Springs but didn't have any luck. I told my HD that Amazon.com would have it and, sure enough, you do. I owned this CD years ago when it first came out, seems like it was on an 8 track. Good to hear it again, Wolf Creek, The Silverton and Black Bear Road are my favorites. I guess it helps when you've been there, done that.

Free Music Review: CW McCall is a rare treasure
Hit: 4 Stars

I have been looking for this for years. Thank goodness for amazon.com. I have this album but my record player went out several years ago. This "album" has always been one of my favorites. CW McCall lives in Ouray Colorado. He used to do slide shows that correlated to music he had written in downtown Ouray. That was twenty years ago. I'm sure he is still there. Ouray is beautiful. My favorite song is Silverton Train & Wolf Creek Pass. The picture on the front of the "album" was taken in that area. (Ouray)

Free Music Review: They should make every community planning board
Hit: 4 Stars

Listen to "There won't be no country Music there won't be No Rock and Roll" before they vote on things.

When I listen to this song I realize how accurate he was almost 30 years ago.

"And the whole damn world is gonna be made of styrene"

Remember the popular advertising commercial of the Indian crying at all of the pollution. It was playing roughly the same time.

Lot of good old songs. Folk songs the way it was meant to be.

Free Music Review: More than just "Convoy"
Hit: 4 Stars

This guy could narrate anything and I'd buy it. Basically, I'm an office-bound New Yorker, and this CD takes me to places I'm not likely to see. I listened to it five times in a row when I received the package. Story songs, serious songs, funny songs, you name it. This would be fantastic to listen to on your next road trip. Life is short; enjoy some Americana while you can. 10-4, see you on the flip flop good buddy.
