Free Music Notes for C.W. McCall - Greatest Hits

Free Music Review: this is a very good C.W. album but not the best
Hit: 4 Stars

This is one of the better albums of C.W.McCall's tunes.
I've been looking for years for a copy of the Wolf Creek Pass album. I have it on a worn out 8-track and can't seem to locate it anywhere else. With songs like Nite Rider, Old Sloan,Classified, 4-Wheel Drive, Old Thirty and more. This one will serve as a substitute till I can find one.

Free Music Review: This album is the dopest ever!!!
Hit: 4 Stars

C.W. McCalls greatest hits smokes!! He sure is "carrying some dynamite!" -- every tune a gem. The music per Manheim Steamroller makes for an interesting foil to the down-home smokin' lyricism of a true country hero!! A must have for every collection!!

Free Music Review: A wonderfully nostalgic look back to the 70's!
Hit: 4 Stars

If you grew up in the '70's then you couldn't help but hear Convoy on the radio. This along with the other songs on this CD are a great mix of C.W. McCall's great music. He invokes both funny and emotional respones. If only I had kept all his original music!

Free Music Review: CW McCall
Hit: 4 Stars

Had this album when I was younger. Still knew the words. Enjoyed this a lot while going down the road.

Free Music Review: Great, but the first was the best
Hit: 3 Stars

Sure, the songs don't age well, but they were never meant to. This is a period piece and should be appreciated as such. It's beautiful '70s country orchestra craftsmanship and great spoken-word lyrics with awesome comic timing. Extra points for songs that were so prescient about environmentalism and the disappearance of open space, like "There Won't Be No Country Music", though WOLF CREEK PASS's "Old 30" and "Glenwood Canyon" hit that note even better -- just part of the reason it's such a shame that album's out of print/unavailable on CD. I grew up on WCP and still have it on tape. It's his first album and for my money it's still the best -- stark & evocative, far less slick & repetitive than a lot of these post-Convoy songs, which get bogged down fast in novelty riffs & overproduction.
