Free Music Notes for Cactology: The Cactus Collection

Listened to Cactus alot when I was younger and really liked them. Have a friend who enjoys old rock and roll and had never heard of Cactus. Gave her this for her birthday and created another Cactus fan.

Free Music Review: If you love rock and great musicianship, this is for you.
Hit: 5 Stars

This is blues-based rock by virtuoso musicians in their relative youth. They are still putting out great stuff today, and a recent live performance in Detroit tore down the house.

I'm 53, and a classic rocker from the late 60's into the 70's. If you liked Vanella Fudge, then you know about Carmine Appice, and Tim Bogert...on the Fender Bass. And if you ever bought In The Beginning, their live album, then you know what great talents these guys are. It only stands to reason that they would be a great combo when I saw they were on a Cactus album I bought, One Way Or Another. Wow!!! These guys put Mitch Ryder type groups to shame!!! I only wish I could have seen these guys in concert. 'Ot and Sweaty is the next best thing. When I saw Cactology ( what a great name for an anthology album ) on CD, I immediately bought it. What a great set of songs to really get to know about the essence of Cactus. If you like your music gritty and grimey, then Cactus is for you. By the way, garage bands could learn a lot by listening to this group!

Free Music Review: cactus takes ohio by storm
Hit: 5 Stars

i bought this on amazon because i heard carmine appice was the drummer. i listen to the first 20 sec sample on amazon and had to have it. i took it to work and another hard rock co-worker asked who is this, this cd rocks. i also played it as background music for our customers. i seen people anywhere from 16-70 tapping their feet and asking who is this. i took the cd back home with me and everybody wondered where the music was. i brought it back and the same results. folks this is a group you have to listen to, they are like a hidden jewel you find and shine up, i have had it about 2 weeks now and have listened to it everyday. if you like black sabbath led zeppelin and mountain, this cd is for you. take a listen

This is a great collection from a most often overlooked band.
If you need a blast of good ol Rockin, Throbbin, Blusy, Guitar Power....WELL
Try this on on for size.
The guys just tore the roof off BB King's Club in Times Square NY tonite and I am so glad to have caught the show. I have this CD in my collection and I intend to review the power and glory of this terrific group over and over again.
