First of all, i would like to say that if you are buying this Cd for 'Jerk It Out' only, i should warn you that this song is slightly different than you're used to. its not a huge difference, but some might care. if you want the normal version, buy 39 Minutes Of Bliss instead, as it has the normal version on it and is just as good and is also by Caesars. Anywho, This is one of the best Cds to come out in 2005. every song is good, but the ones that where in my head for days were Jerk It Out, Paper Tigers, We Got To Go, Its Not The Fall That Hurts and Out There. heres how i'd rate each song...
Spirit: 4/5 - Good, catchy but a little slow.
Its Not The Fall...: 5/5 - As I said, very catchy.
Out There: 5/5 - Again, very catchy.
Jerk It Out: 5/5 - Even though i still can't get used to the small differences between this and the one i'm used to, i love it.
May The Rain: 4/5 - I don't know why, but theres just something i don't really like about this song.
My Heart Is...: 3/5 - This song just isn't very catchy and its kinda boring.
Paper Tigers: 5/5 - Quite Posssibly the most catchy chorus i've ever heard. the rest of the song is a bit slow, but, man, that is a great chorus!
Your Time Is Near: 3/5 - Meh. same problems as My Heart Is Breaking Down.
Throwaway: 4/5 - Catchy, with a nice intro. But it sounds like several songs i'd already heard on this album.
Winter Song: 4/5 - fairly slow... describes winter nicley though and pretty enjoyable, but not overly catchy.
We Got To Leave: 6/5 - Best song on the album! it is catchy and made me want to play it again. Very deserving of the extra point i gave it.
Soul Chaser: 3/5 - average... Kind of like Throwaway.
Good And Gone: 4/5 - Sounds like several songs, but since those songs are good, this one is to!

Caesars, Paper TigersFeatures the "Jerk It Out" as heard in the iPod Shuffle commercial. Hailed by Blender magazine for making music "as hot as a kiln," the Caesaers new album is richly layered power pop with a sound that melds the summer of ?65 electric beat instrumentation with a 2005 wide-eyed urgency.
This is the second stateside album by this workmanlike Swedish power pop garage act. People who don?t use TiVo to skip through the adverts have already heard the best song on the album, "Jerk It Out," from that iPod Shuffle commercial. That tune?s been tacked on here even though it?s 3 years old, and it?s easy to see why it was resuscitated as it blows away its neighbors on this CD. Organ-driven, tight and cool, "Jerk" is the kind of song you just want to dance around a crowded room filled with cute people all dressed up like mods and ready to party. The lyrics are daft, but they?re young, and it?s just rock music, right? Not all the new tunes pale in comparison to "Jerk it Out," however. "Your Time Is Near" is a really good, suggesting collaboration between the Concretes and the Brian Jonestown Massacre, while "We Got To Leave" judiciously uses handclaps. In the end, however, this band does seem more like another trendy, sort-of retro, kind-of garage rockist group. --Mike McGonigal
