Free Music Review: The Time To Kill Is Now!!

2006 has been another fantastic year for heavy metal thus far. There have been some great new metal albums that I have bought so far this year, including the new albums from In Flames, Misery Index, Scar Symmetry, Lacuna Coil, and among one of my favorite albums of 2006 thus far, Cannibal Corpse's brand spanking new album simply titled "Kill". Man, I just love these guys. They are without a doubt one of the most violent, sickest, malevolent, intense, and greatest death metal bands of all time, and they're among one of my favorite bands as well. These guys just get more faster, heavier, and intense with every album they release and better with age in their 17 year history. Produced by Hate Eternal vocalist/guitarist Erik Rutan, Cannibal Corpse's 10th studio album "Kill", finds the band more malevolent, faster, and heavier than ever before. This album also marks the return for former Malevolent Creation guitarist Rob Barrett in his first performance with the band since 1996's "Vile" as he replaces longtime axeman Jack Owen. The lyrics on here are more violent and malevolent than ever. The opening track "The Time To Kill Is Now" immediately kicks off the album with a bang with fast scorching riffs, fast jackhammer like drums, and the ear shattering shreik of KILL from vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. You know upon hearing that first track, you know that this album is going to kill and I do mean KILL eveything in it's path, I mean every song on here (aside from the closing instrumental "Infinite Misery") is fast, brutal, and all out intense. George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher's growling vocals are sick, brutal, and intense as always. Pat O'Brien and Rob Barrett's twin guitarwork just absolutely rips and shreds throughout. Plenty of scorching riffs, and blazing solos (while O'Brien handles most of the leadwork on this album). You also got awesome bass lines from Alex Webster, and as always awesome jackhammer like drumming courtesy of skinsman Paul Mazurkiewicz. Favorite songs: "The Time To Kill Is Now", "Make Them Suffer", "Murder Worship", "Necrosadistic Warning", "The Discipline Of Revenge", "Barbaric Bludgeonings", "Purification By Fire", "Five Nails Through The Neck", "Brain Removal Device", hell every song on this album kills man, I love'em all. Bottom Line: This is no doubt one of the best death metal albums of 2006, and among one of my favorites as well. So anyways if you're a fan of Cannibal Corpse, do yourself a huge favor, go out and buy this album now, pop it in your stereo, put the volume on full blast, open a can of your favorite energy drink (you'll need one), and raise those devil horns. LONG LIVE CANNIBAL CORPSE!! STAY METAL!!
