Every song sounds crystal clear thanks to a superb remastering job, and the liner notes are expertly written. Don't deprive yourself of one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. If you have a romantic bone in your body or have liked any Carly Simon song in your past then I suggest you run don't walk to buy this album. The collection of songs in simply amazing. If you had any doubt that Carly Simon is one of the great singer songwriters of our generation, this album should dispel those doubts. She is truly an American treasure. I always knew that Carly was a prolific songwriter but this album exceeded my expectations. Her humor and passion are amply exhibited in the 20 great songs that make up this album. Although I was familiar with the great majority of songs in this album I must admit I encountered a few jewels that had somehow escaped me. In particular "You are the love of my life" has become an instant favorite of mine.

This CD is fantastic. Much of Carly Simon's music is outstanding and this collection showcases her better-known songs, which makes it perfect for the occasional listener like me. One of the reasons I enjoy her music is that many of her lyrics really pique my curiosity and make me want to know the entire story behind them. Some are melancholic and some are haunting, while others are exuberant love songs. Unlike "The Best of Carly Simon," this CD fortunately contains no live recordings, which always ruins greatest hits compilations. Also, the digital mastering sounds fantastic. If you like Carly Simon's music, yet not enough to invest a small fortune to buy her catalogue of work, this is the one CD to get. It doesn't supplant last year's beautiful 2-disc "Anthology" which boasts all of these songs (except "Amity"), and it has the same superlative remastering. This is a collection for the casual fan, or anyone who wants to rediscover and enjoy these songs in one tidy disc. What can you say about the music? It's really the soundtrack of many lives, and doesn't even come close to communicating the breadth and versatility of this extraordinary singer and songwriter. Mostly, these are the commercial highpoints -- a Carly Simon primer, and smart as pop music ever comes. Wow, what a great talent she is. Has thirtysome years really slipped by since I first bought the Anticipation songbook? (which I still own in mint condition I'm proud to say). This CD collection is the holly grail of Carly's work and a must have for those who "dig" (thanks Murray The K) her sound. Most everything's here on the CD which includes some truely great pictures on Carly, some which I've never seen before. Man, did she have the sexiest album covers or what? Carly TRUELY ENJOYS being a woman more than any woman I have met or seen. This fact comes through in her photos like a sledgehammer. We need more woman like her! All in all a great package and a real keeper. Please buy one.
