Free Music Notes for Reflections: Carly Simon's Greatest HitsFree Music Review: Her Best Hits of 30 Years Hit: 5 Stars
"Reflections" is a excellent all-in-one of Carly Simon's greatest HITS to date, which right now is 2007. This covers a 30 year career. When it says Greatest Hits, that is what it contains. HITS. Not personal favorites without radio play. It also has ONE EXCEPTION: "Amity", which is written by Carly Simon and sung by her and her daughter Sally Taylor, and was not a hit or released anywhere else but on Reflections. So it makes an ideal and special addition to an otherwise only "hits" release. This also updates her last big hits compilation, "Clouds In My Coffee" and not to be confused with her "Anthology" compilation, which contains many more than merely "hits" tracks. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: simply the best; it's all here Hit: 5 Stars
I'm 22 years old and I do not really consider myself a Carly Simon fan, but there are songs of hers that I like. I think this is cool because it covers her whole career. I remember first hearing "Coming Around Again" in my younger schooling years and every now and then I was introduced to another of her songs. This covers all of her popular hits, including the one I remember from a long time ago (and I was surprised that this one did not chart on the Hot 100): "The Stuff That Dreams are Made Of". It also appears her later soundtrack songs from "Working Girl" and "Anywhere But Here". You'll be glad you bought this retrospective. I know I am.
Free Music Review: GREAT 5 Stars
I had to buy this cd because I love Carly Simon. I love this particular cd because it spans so many years. She makes me feel happy when I hear her sing. I'm not young, but when her cd is "blasting" in my car,I feel young, and some people look at me, as I would look at someone very young who has their car radio or cd sooo loud, I wonder how can they stand it! All the songs she does are great. I do love the song she dedicates to her mother, who passed, and also love "Amity" when she sings with her daughter, Sally. This cd is just wonderful....sure gets me going as I'm driving to work!! And peps me up as I am driving home!! Buy it....you will love it too! Carly is GREAT!
Free Music Review: Great Collection Hit: 5 Stars
I've always been a hard rocker for the most part, so it was a bit out of character for me to get this album (my wife couldn't believe it). But hey, I was looking for some of the best female vocalist material from the 70's and this really fits the bill.
The first half of the album has all those great hits from the 70's. The second half of the album has limited appeal to me since it gets into that 80's/easy listening sound that doesn't offer much that I would consider musically interesting. With one big exception. "Touched by the Sun" sounds like a mixture of Indigo Girls and Pink Floyd. It's fabulous!
Free Music Review: Remastered Treasure Hit: 5 Stars
Take the album you played a million times and
find a way to clean it up. Make the sound crisper, clearer and
polished.
That is what the remastering of this cd has done.
This is a wonderful chronicle of Carly's finest, most memorable tunes.
A must have for admirers of singer-songwriters, whose work
can and will stand the test of time and fads and fashions.
Reflections caches the evocative images of Carly Simon's singular talent and
that is one mirror image I can happily look and listen to for
a long time to come.
