Free Music Review: Brazillian Style Great Choice for Carly

Great classy, sexy choice for Carly's baratone voice (Oh my gosh!, you mean she's not a high-note hyped clone!). The samba/Bossa feel is nice for hot summer nights. The exception would be the (typicaly Carly Simon eclectic cut) "People Say a Lot": better for the pre-evening cookout!
I've read some of the (few)negative comments: I remember the same things being said about Sarah Vaughan, Billy Holiday, Etc. If you want electronic gotta-sell-to-mass-media clones, then you wont be interested in one of the few unimitatable, and unlessoned, voices that remain in the media jungle of modern music. BUY!

There are so many different sounds on Carly's new CD,"This Kind of Love," from beutifull ballads " Hold out your heart",to Rap,"People say a lot, "all with a Brazilian mood.My favorite cut is track 9,"So many people to love,"co written by Carole Bayer Sager,with fantastic background vocals by Sherree Brown.Carly and Sherree's vocals blend perfect together.On track 12,"Sangre doice,"Simon has never sounded better,hitting notes like she was still in her 20's.I just hope this year is the year Carly is FINNALLY voted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

Maybe this is merely the simple conflation of my humble taste and her happy genius--scarcely matters. "This Kind of Love" hits spots in my soul I'd thought long dead. Start to finish, each song invites one's heart to sing along.
Thank you, Carly, for reminding me that love matters, conquers, and persuades even our darkest demons to sit by the road for a little while; knowing that as one breathes, sometimes just to taste and see the love that rises up right in front of one can be a fine day's work.

Each note is unmistakable Carly Simon, complete with the unexpected chord change at the conclusion of a verse and that soaring voice that still has power, clarity and emotion unlike any other singer. I grew up with the beautiful voice of Carly Simon. Her songs, when I hear them again, take me back to different times of my life. Over the years she had done nothing but get better.
I think it's wonderful that she made this CD her own effort by doing most of the writing herself and incorporating the talents of her children. The result of her brilliance is one of her best albums in terms of music and lyrics ever!
