Free Music Review: I just had to say something
Hit: 5 Stars

I was a fan of Carrie Underwood since I heard that voice singing "I cant make you love me" on American Idol...I knew then she was a star. After the release of her first album, I immediately ran to get it, and she didn't dissapoint at all. Then as Carnival Ride was released, for some odd reason, I really took my time to get it. I loved "So Small" and was interested to hear the rest. Well I finally got off my butt and purchased this album. After hearing it, I had to write something. I have never done this review thing before, but this time I just had to say something. The songs "I know you won't" and "Just A Dream" are two of the best songs I have heard in a LONG time in ANY genre of music....hands down. I was in my car and I had chills and my mouth just hung open at these songs. Overall this CD is fun, great to listen to in the car. Carrie has shown immense growth as an artist and singer. Her voice is even better than ever (if thats possible). I really liked the whole CD but "I Know You Won't" and "Just A Dream" along with others "Last Name" (this cd's "Before He Cheats") and "Wheel of the World" are worth the CD alone. If you haven't bought it yet..GET IT! Country fans and pop music fans alike will love this CD. GO CARRIE! She definitely proved with this CD that she isn't going anywhere but up.

Free Music Review: Strong sophomore, COUNTRY album so be proud
Hit: 5 Stars

In Carnival Ride, Carrie Underwood proved that she's one artist that country music fans around the world can be proud of.

This release was obviously borne out of hard-work and a product of pure talent. With the temptation these days of crossing over, especially on sophomore releases, Carrie turned around and made a real Country album filled with fiddles and steel guitars, with no apologies. She even co-wrote a handful of the tracks!

The album has nothing but highlights...no dull moments as even the slowest ballads pack their share of heavy punches."I Told You So" is a very wonderful remake of what was a classic by one of the best arists of all time - Randy Travis. I think this should be released as a single, too. No disrespect to Mr. Travis who I have utmost respect for but saying his original version pales in comparison to Carrie's remake is an understatement. Other strong ones are the current single "So Small", the very fun "More Boys I meet", and a more attitude-filled, "I don't even know your name" by alan jackson - themed "LAST NAME". Bottom line, all tracks are good, better, and wonderful.

If you want a country album, this is the one for you. If "Some Hearts" garnered 5-stars, then there's no reason why this one shouldn't.

Free Music Review: Great and Mature Album from Carrie Underwood
Hit: 5 Stars

Sometimes, putting a label on an artist and/or a record with a genre/style title can misguide people and keep them away from good music just because of silly preconceptions.

I know a lot of people turn their noses on country music - I have this attitude myself - but only if they knew that some country releases are not actually "that country", perceptions on some artists and their albums would be different and maybe a lot better. This is the case with "Carnival Ride" by Carrie Underwood.

From a first listening, anyone would easily recognize elements of country music (violins, hand claps and a male background vocals that reminds Shania Twain's music). But above all, listeners with some good taste in music would agree that this is not a "root country" record, but something of pleasant and easy listening that is worth having it, regardless of the label that it receives.

From this 13-track album, my recommendations are for "So Small", "Just a Dream", "Get Out of This Town", "I Told You So" and "Wheel of the World", all beautiful songs. The awful one (every record has at least one) is "The More Boys I Meet". It is so awful to me that I simply have no comments on it...

The final word: go and take this album!

Free Music Review: Undeniably BRILLIANT!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow. After the amazing success of Carrie Underwood's debut CD Some Hearts, I was very worried that Carnival Ride would be a let down. How can someone so new to the music industry hit it out of the park on her first 2 at bats? When So Small was released I was pleasantly surprised. Great message, voice, talent. But - could the rest of the CD be as good? YES! Right from the first song I was tapping my foot and singing along. By the time I got to All-American Girl, So Small & Just A Dream I was crying. Get Out of this Town had me thinking about Some Hearts & Crazy Dreams had me flashing back to AI & Nashville Star (not just Carrie, but ALL my favorites that are now on their way). Then WOW, Carrie just SINGS and drags you in emotionally with I Know You Won't, You Won't Find This and I Told You So (Randy Travis will be proud). In between, I am given Last Name (which I love but my husband says is NOT appropriate for the kids) and The More Boys I Meet - thank you Carrie - they are great, fun songs. The CD ends with two more great songs Twisted & Wheel of the World. The more I listen to this CD the more I love it. Have it on the ipod, the computer and in the car! Carrie you did it again (sorry if I doubted you a little - it will never happen again!)

Free Music Review: CARRIE TOOK US ON A WONDERFUL RIDE!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love the CD "Carnival Ride" with A PASSION as I do Carrie's first one "Some Hearts". Once again, EVERY SINGLE SONG IS AMAZING!!!! Thus making it an enjoyable CD to listen to through and through. I don't know how many times I have listened to this CD, but I did wear it out and had to buy another one! Coming as the follow up to Carrie's stunning debut "Some Hearts" this CD DID NOT FAIL!!!!!! CARRIE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND I AM DELIGHTED AT THE RESULT!

Once again Carrie's voice - a true gift from God- shines through on "Carnival Ride", with each song showing a different side to her wonderful instrument.

My favorite song on this CD has got to be HANDS DOWN "Crazy Dreams". That is one of my favorite songs of all time! That song has become an anthem of mine which I love to listen to everyday and sing at the top of my lungs! Thankyou Carrie for making such a song and THANK GOD YOUR DREAM CAME TRUE so that we were blessed to listen to your voice and your music and to watch your amazing story unfold.

Keep on making the beautiful music Carrie and we will keep on listening!

GOD BLESS YOU CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND MAY EVERY ONE OF YOUR DAYS BE FILLED WITH LOVE, JOY, LAUGHTER AND BEAUTIFUL THINGS!
