Free Music Notes for Carnival RideFree Music Review: Carrie takes us on one incredible "Carnival Ride" Hit: 5 Stars
With her hit album "Some Hearts" already under her belt, what is the reigning Queen of country to do now? Well she can take us on one incredible "Carnival Ride" for example. This down right country album shows that Carrie is an exceptional singer/songwriter. Every track on this CD is absolute perfection!!! What more could you ask for? Well you get a flat out hard rocking sound with "Flat on the Floor" , a smash hit with "So Small", and an incredible cover of the Randy Travis song "I Told You So".
Carrie has definitely shed her American Idol image. Soon, if not by now, we should be seeing Carries name along side such country greats as Reba, Martina, Shania, Faith and Dolly. Everyone needs to go out and get this CD it is definitely worth a listen, I can promise that it will be the best "Carnival Ride" you have ever been on. (5 Stars)
Also other must get songs include "Oh Love" a duet with Brad Paisley on his 5th Gear CD, and "I'll Stand By You". Both are excellent and further cement Carrie as a country great!
Free Music Review: An even better sophomore CD! Hit: 5 Stars
It's rare that a sophomore album outshines the first one, especially if the first was an award winning album. But Carrie Underwood's Carnival is even better than her first CD, Some Hearts. And that's not to say Some Hearts wasn't a fantastic CD. Carrie Underwood is managing to give some youth and life to the country music scene.
Carnival Ride is full of catchy, youthful, fun, well sung songs. Some of my favorites are: Flat on the Floor, All American Girl, So Small, Get out of this Town, Crazy Dreams, Last Name, Wheel of the World and The More Boys I Meet. And while many of these songs might be hits no matter who was singing them, Ms. Underwood is so gifted with her talented and amazing voice that no one could sing them as she can. This CD is reminiscent of Trisha Yearwoods earlier CDs.
If you're a young country fan, this is a must have CD. If you're a country fan at all, it's one to add to your collection! I know she's from American Idol, but give her a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Free Music Review: One of the best albums of 2007 Hit: 5 Stars
Carrie Underwood is a force to be reckoned with! This album firmly places her at the top of the American Idol heap. After so many seasons of the show its not going to guarantee a succesful career just by being crowned the winner. You absolutely have to stand out from the crowd. Carrie Underwood is by far the most succesful winner (Daughtry didn't even come in 3rd remember, but his band has been wildly succesful regardless.) On "Carnival Ride" there are some WONDERFUL tracks my personal favorite is "Told you so" simply becuase my mom used to play the Randy Travis version all the time so its a sentimental thing for me. Anyway, get this cd it rocks hard and should win a grammy for album of the year but we know how prejudiced the grammys are against country music.
Other rockin' cds to buy this year? Rascal Flatts' "Still feels good" is so fun you can't help but turn up the volume and sing along also Josh Groban's christmas cd "Noel" is phenomonal and will become an iconic christmas album for years to come.
Free Music Review: The new and matured Underwood Hit: 5 Stars
First I must say that I absolutely loved Some Hearts, although I thought Carrie had some trouble connecting to a few of the songs. "Carnival Ride" is wonderful. Breathtaking ballads "I Know You Won't", "I Told You So" and "You Won't Find This" put Carrie up there with the all time greats. I would say her voice is very comparable if not even better than Martina and Shania. There are a few other somber tracks, such as "Wheel of the World", a valid reflection on life, and "Just A Dream" a haunting story of a soldier lost at war and his wife's roller coaster of emotions. Other downright sassy tracks such as "Last Name" "The More Boys I Meet" and "Flat On The Floor" show Underwood's other side. I'd say her element is more ballad-esque; but she does pull off these songs. Highly catchy and singable "Get Out Of This Town" "Twisted" and "All-American Girl" are simply irresistible. Carnival Ride exceeded my expectations, and I didn't think Some Hearts could be topped, but I was proven wrong, once again.
Free Music Review: Awesome!!! Listen to it constantly! Hit: 5 Stars
I only listened to and really liked only a few songs off of Carries debut CD, SOME HEARTS, Jesus, Take the Wheel being my favorite. However, its a completely different case with CARNIVAL RIDE. I really likr several of the tracks. The best songs in my opinion are:
FLAT ON THE FLOOR-SO SMALL-JUST A DREAM-GET OUT OF THIS TOWN-I TOLD YOU SO and WHEEL OF THE WORLD.
I noticed a lot of the songs sound more up-beat than than those on SOME HEARTS. If I had one criticism it would be that many of the songs follow the way over-used theme of love and relationships. However, there are some great love-like songs on the CD. SOME HEARTS in this aspect showed more versatility. Nonetheless, this album is worth the money!
Still a great CD...and its first single SO SMALL is amazing!!! Will this CD go 6x Platinum like her first? Who knows. All I can say is in its first week it sold over 500,000 copies---selling GOLD right off the back.
Good luck and great job Carrie!
