I, like many of you, wonder where my life would be without american idol. I was getting bored of artists that wrote their own songs and came up the hard way through the industry. Now I can watch a contest where a british guy makes fun of people and another judge sleeps with contestants to find my new favorite musical artists. Carrie Underwood is my new 4th favorite singer(behind Hasselhoff, Aiken and Jordy). First of all she's hot, and that is a really good thing if you want to be a singing star. Second of all she won american idol which automatically means she should be america's new favorite singer because American Idol is just awesome and takes the trouble out of actually going to the record store and listening to what is out there. American Idol tells us who the next pop superstar is so we don't have to do any thinking. Simon does it for us. The best thing is that the market gets yet another singer that doesn't bore us by writing their own music and putting their own thoughts on a CD. I'm sure Carrie will release a CD full of sappy songs written by other people that will hit the top ten on the charts song after song because if she's on american idol, she should be #1 on the charts. Thank goodness this show has cleaned up the originality that was going on in the music business.
As super awesome as Carrie is, let me get one thing clear, she's not Clay Aiken. First of all she's a girl and Clay is only half a girl Second, her singing sounds like bad kazoo playing next to the angelic sounds of super Clay. So don't fall into the trap of lumping all american idol artists together, you can lump all of them together but Clay. He's on his own level.
