Free Music Notes for Casting Crowns

Free Music Review: This is just downright good music
Hit: 5 Stars

Isn't it odd that you often pay little attention to what's happening in your own backyard? Such is the case with Casting Crowns who are based near Atlanta. Around the Atlanta area there are 2 main bands that everyone knows and loves: Third Day and Casting Crowns (as both are from or live around Atlanta). I was slow to give Casting Crowns a try but was glad once I did.

"What If My People Prayed" has been a big hit on the radio for some time. It asks a good question: what would happen if all those who call themselves Chirstians actually pray? My favorite lyric in this song is 'stop asking Ophrah what to do...' How true is that? We often ask everyone but our creator what we should do in a given situation when He wants to be involved in our biggest details as well as our smallest.

Another big hit is "If We Are The Body". This song challenges Christians to find their spiritual gift and use it! It's another upbeat song with great (not to mention convicting!) lyrics.

Things slow down a little on "Voice Of Truth" which was another big radio hit.

Each song on this cd has great musicianship and great lyrics. I highly recommend picking up a copy!

Free Music Review: Quickly Became Favorite CD in My Collection!
Hit: 5 Stars

Out of the hundred-fifty-or-so CDs that I own, Casting Crowns climbed quickly to the top position and has stayed there for the last three months...there are no signs of it being replaced. Musically, the tracks are all varied enough, technical enough, and catchy enough to allow you to listen to the cd straight through multiple times in a row without feeling overwhelmed. There is not a single track on the CD that I do not like.

But lyrically is where Casting Crowns shines! The lyrics are as challenging and convicting as those of one of the visionaries in Christian Music: Keith Green. And, despite the focus of the majority of the songs on our personal walk (maybe I should say "because of the God focussed application to our personal lives..."), the tracks lift my heart up in praise in a way comparable to the best praise and worship disc. I do not give away reviews like this for nothing, but Casting Crowns earns it. Overall this is an extremely biblically solid, convicting, faith-enhancing, and actually even life-changing (I have "If We are the Body," "Who Am I," "Voice of Truth," "Here I Go Again," and "American Dream" in mind when I say "life-changing").

Free Music Review: What a Refreshing, Excellent Album!
Hit: 5 Stars

I saw Casting Crowns when they came to Portland with Steven Curtis Chapman and Chris Tomlin. I had heard "If We Are The Body" on Christian radio, and I knew I would enjoy their set. I was blown away by their musical talent.

At the intermission of the concert, I immediately went to the kiosk and bought their album. Not only that, but I was able to meet them after the show and shake their hands as each of the members signed the jacket of the CD case.

Not only is their music top notch, but they are so humble and friendly. It was a great experience, to know that even though you are famous, you can still be personable and honest Christians.

Each of their songs is wonderful. There is no song on this album that I skip over, and I haven't stopped listening to it since the concert! My personal favorites are "Who am I" and "The Voice of Truth". Those truly speak to me.

I will continue to buy any consecutive albums they might have. Casting Crowns, you've got a fan for life in me! Thank you for your music. Much love and prayers for you and your ministry!

Free Music Review: Casting Crowns: A Melody of Faith
Hit: 5 Stars

Lately I have purchased many contemporary Christian bands and having a belief in God and his son and yet not adhering to a religion I have felt my inner faith in God and his workings strengthen through listening to these bands. 'Casting Crowns' is no different and has added to my increase in faith through worshipful music that is entertaining and brilliant. This group is made up of a number of individuals from different churches but an underlining faith in God and their faith in his workings. The songs on this album are breathtaking and glorious and many listeners will become fans of this group. The vocals are sung with a beautiful temperment and a emotional level that shows the faith in the lyrics and words sung. All 10 songs on this album are simply brilliant and radiant with faith in God and his powers. 'If We Are The Body' and 'Who Am I' are masterpieces of this album and their messages to the listeners is a example that Christian faith is alive and strong. This is soft rock with a slight twist of pop mixed in. The CD is a melody of faith, a faith in God and in each other has human beings.

Free Music Review: FIVE STARS FOR CASTING CROWNS!!
Hit: 5 Stars

"Casting Crowns" is the Christian rock group's debut album. They are from Georgia where most of the band is involved with their church's youth group. I wasn't really interested in this group until my husband purchased the CD. Then I started listening to it, and am now totally addicted to their music. We saw them in concert recently and I can honestly say that it was the best concert I've ever been too (including Paul McCartney and Celine Dion!). A lot of the songs on this CD, as well as the "Lifesong" CD, speak to the church. We are urged to look past people's exteriors to see and love them like Jesus does. We are challenged to remain open and real. The 3rd song, "Voice of Truth" is so powerful, it brings me to tears every time I hear it. It was co-written by Steven Curtis Chapman and is so encouraging. "The American Dream" addresses the common mistake made by many people, who go through life trying to achieve more and more wealth and "things", while in the meantime ignoring the state of their souls and the important things in life, like family. I highly recommend both of Casting Crowns CD's.
