Free Music Notes for Tea for the TillermanFree Music Review: The Colors of Cat Hit: 5 Stars
This album is steeped in nostalgia for me, but more important the songs on this particular album are so poinient and clear. I found the songs to be a combination of heart and strength, and possibly a catharsis for the inner turmoil he was experiencing at this juncture in his life, but then again, what authentic singer/songwriter doesn't use music to regain ground being surrounded by the constant internal and external pressures that come with being brilliant.
This album really shows Cat's colors and they are soft and warm and bold all at once. Obviously, one of my favorites
Free Music Review: Classic Stevens Hit: 5 Stars
This is my favorite album by Stevens. Tillerman serves up stevens musical genius with non-stop great tracks. Also shows stevens ability to switch up styles from "Sad Lisa" to "Longer Boats" although this is not a difinitive collection of Stevens this is a must have for any true Cat Stevens fan. A classic album by a classic talent. buy this and then check out his other albums this one pleases and can serve a purpose for any occasion as well as being a piece of classic musical genius unto itself. Make this your first Stevens album if you are a new listener or fan.
Free Music Review: A classic collection of songs by a wonderful balladeer Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of the best albums that I have ever heard. It is hard to put together Cat Stevens in one category, is he rock and roll? Or is he folk music? It dosent matter because all of his albums are so good, and Tea for the Tillerman in my opinion is the very best. "Father and Son" "Sad Lisa" "Longer Boats" "Wild World" and every song on this album are outstanding. This is one of the early 1970's greatest albums and its easy to know why after you listen to this. Highly recommended!
Free Music Review: A Fav! Hit: 5 Stars
I just saw HAROLD AND MAUDE again this week (ie: the movie) and remembered how much I had loved TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN.
I had owned this as a vinyl album many yrs ago, and had played it all the time.So of course after seeing the movie, I just had to re-order this album in CD format.
No disappointments here. It's as good as ever.
I ordered this album as a Re-mastered CD version and it sounded GREAT! Worth the extra few dollars!
Free Music Review: Tea For Cat Hit: 5 Stars
This is such a great album.
Mona Bone Jakon, Tea For The Tillerman, and Teaser and the Firecat are all perfect LP's, just get them all. You can't go wrong with Cat Stevens!
Where Do the Children Play is my favorite Cat song
Wild World is probably his most listenable song
Miles From Nowhere, Longer Boats, and On The Road to Findout are some of his best as well
I think this is one of the coolest albums to be a fan of, everyone should give it a chance
