Free Music Notes for Teaser & The FirecatFree Music Review: thanks Yusuf/Cat Stevens for coming back for us! Hit: 5 Stars
Recently I purchased Yusuf's new CD and after listening to this, I needed to purchase the CD versions of Cat Stevens' Teaser and the Firecat plus Tea for the Tillerman. I had the albums from 70s and just had to have the CDs now. People are quite happy that Yusuf/Cat Stevens decided to come back into the music business. Such an extraordinary voice that we have missed for 20+ years. I cannot thank Yusuf/Cat Stevens enough for once again sharing his talen with the world. Everybody should own one of his CDs if not more.
Free Music Review: For new and old fans, a Must Buy Hit: 5 Stars
Arguably one of the greatest examples of Cat Stevens' musical skill and diversity. It contains some of his more popular songs: "The Wind", "Morning Has Broken", "Moonshadow", and the moving "Peace Train", but no song on this album can be considered even on-par - they are all amazing tracks. If you are a Cat Stevens fan, shame on you for not owning this; and if you are a new fan, or have never listened to Cat Stevens before, make this the next album you buy.
Free Music Review: Avoid the Greatest Hits Hit: 5 Stars
In general, I think Greatest Hits albums are to be avoided, and nowhere is that more true than with Cat Stevens. "Teaser and the Firecat" and "Tea for the Tillerman" beg to be listened to in their original form. Otherwise, you'd miss "Rubylove" and "If I Laugh".
Other than that, what can I add to what's already been said? Truly a landmark album, and one of the most sonically important albums of the era. Want a real treat? Pick up a copy on 180g vinyl; pure magic.
Free Music Review: Mystic Cat- A must for any music lover Hit: 5 Stars
On "Teaser and the FireCat", Cat embarks on a soul-searching quest for peace within himself and with the world. The album is filled with great classics such as Cat's beautiful arrangement of "Morning Has Broken", the Greek/English "RubyLove", the call for social reform "Changes IV", and my favorite Cat song "Peace Train".I have listened to Cat's music for most of my 34 years and I would recommend this album to anyone.
Free Music Review: The Cat is timeless Hit: 5 Stars
Play an acoustic guitar, pick up all of Cat Stevens albums to study. He is a master singer/songwriter. As basic as the acoustic guitar maybe, Cat has brought forth some of the most exciting changes in years. It ceases to amaze me whenever I put on a Cat Stevens album I can go back to a time when playing acoustic guitar never sounded as pure as when playing Cat Stevens catalog.
