This is AMAZING! Alrighty, I've been a Cats fan FOREVER ...! And I love this CD! The whole cast was wonderful in my opinion. Timothy Scott is probably one of, if not the best, Mr. Mistoffelees (though I still like Jacob Brent more *huggles a photo of him*), and Betty Buckly did a great job as Grizabella (though no one can beat Elaine Paige).Cats is a great musical with brilliant songs, characters, and plot, and all who love the musical theatre should consider buying this CD.
Despite popular belief, Cats HAS a plot. Its obvious, really. Just pay attention for the Everlasting Cat's sake!

If you love cats, then you MUST see this musical. Like T.S. Elliott's book of poetry which inspired the musical, CATS is purely for fun. The music, the lyrics, the dance and the costumes and make-up are the source of enjoyment in this production. The nearly non-existant plot is irrelevant to cat-lovers who will see their pets portrayed by at least one of the characters. The cat-like antics of the actors alone will entertain those who have studied the the habits of these critters. The music plays in your head for days after the spectacle of this production. This is an awesome cd! If I could give 10 stars I would have! I have seen so many Broadway shows over the last 10 years I can't even begin to count how many. There is something about a play that just draws you into another world. The actors and actresses are so gifted and have an amazing ability to capture the audience. Even if you do not like theatre as much as I do... you should go to just one. I would reccomend "Cats". It is a good begining musical and truly shows all aspects and emotions of a great play. This cd reaches near perfection. The vocals are great, the orchestrations are great, and the songs are very inventive. This is definately Andrew Lloyd Webbers strangest score. I have owned this cd for about five years, but i only started listening to it 2 years ago after i saw the Cats video. The strange music took me a long time to get used to, but did it ever grow on me! I love this cd and listen to it ALL the time. It is great and i am planning on buying the origonal london cast recording soon [...]. I saw this show when I was 11 for my birthday and loved it! I also had the cassette tapes of the show.. but lord knows where they disapeared to over the years... I recently saw the video (which, by the way, is fantastic!) and wanted very badly to buy the soundtrack to the movie. But sadly they don't make one... so I decided to buy this CD instead. I love this CD but since it was made back in 1982 it's not as great a recording as the one done for the movie in 1998. But it's still a great CD and a favorite of mine!
