Free Music Notes for InfliktedFree Music Review: absolute trash; max, just give up Hit: 1 StarsYes, Sepultura's first three albums are more or less absolute masterpieces and everything else after that is just disposable, especially the abysmal Roots album; and then there's nailbomb & soulfly; horrid doesn't even begin to describe the quality of "metal" brought forth by both outfits.
Now he's trying, yet again, to establish some cred that he decimated with his last 2 bands; it's not going to happen. This is still watered down radio friendly garbage.
Seriously, man, just stop.
Free Music Review: Makes Me Wanna Get In The Pit! Hit: 5 StarsThis CD gets me pumped. Great stuff. I can't wait to hear this live. Has a great thrash/speed/mosh theme to it. Looking forward to the future of the Brothers Cavalera!
Free Music Review: Not perfect, but better than the last few Soulfly/Sep albums Hit: 4 StarsThis is the best album to come out of the Soulfly/Sep crews since the first Soulfly and Roorback. Some of Max's guitar parts are a bit repetitive like the most the Soulfly stuff(let the reigns loose on Rizzo),but Iggor's drums are great and the sound is like an updated Nailbomb/Soulfly with a very slight hint of early 90's Sep.Nothing groundbreaking but a solid metal album that any Cavalera fan should get.
Free Music Review: A solid release from the boys from Brasil! Hit: 4 Stars'Inflikted'is part punk, part thrash, part groove album with a very raw (yet polished) production thanks in part to ex-Soulflier Logan Mader behind the board. Unfortunatly 'Inflikted' comes off more like Soulfly instead of Sepultura. With most of the tracks written by Max and to some degree Joe from Gorjira this album just sounds like the next incarnation of Soulfly. Sure there are some thrashy elements and great solos(way to g o Mark) but between these spots the album drags and begins to sound the same as we've heard from Max for the past several years....yawn. Rex Brown even makes an appearance on one track as well as Ritchie Cavalera on another. Iggor's drumming is very solid as it is simplistic. You can feel the vibe from the brothers Cavalera as it is evident on such tracks as 'Sanctuary', 'Dark Ark','Hex'and the punked out title track 'Inflikted' all of which are solid. But the one thing that continues to hold Max back is his very limited vocabulary. He has the same vocal delivery as Soulfly's S/T. So you are kind of hearing the same thing over and over. His same lyrics just keep getting regurgitated over and over again....this fact is undenyable. And Max can't create an album without counting off in at least one song....1..2..3..4.
sure I support them and I think it's great that the founders of Brasil's greatest export are reunited but to think that this is a return to form for them is a far stretch......by any means.
Free Music Review: THE DAY OF METAL DELIVERANCE HAS BEEN INFLIKTED UPON US! Hit: 5 StarsDANG! (Or some other except deleted comment that Amazon won't post) I was hoping to be the first to post the first review for this CD. The day that all `Metal' fans have been waiting for has been delivered, finally! Cavalera Conspiracy - INFLiKTED has been released. This is not Soulfy, this is not Nailbomb, not Sepultura w/Derrick Green or any other combination of a projects since Max Cavalera parted from Sepultura. This is the 'Cavalera Conspiracy' and it sounds like a CD that should have been the next Sepultura CD after `Roots!' Sorry, `Against' didn't quite cut it! This is SPEED, THRASH, HEAVY, AGGRESSIVE, and FREAKIN `IN YOUR FACE' Metal! I know all of us Sepultura fans were waiting for a Max / Sepultura reunion, but guess what... INFLiKTED is what you need to cure that! This just goes to show that these two brothers are what made the `real music!'
