Free Music Notes for Cece Winans

Free Music Review: Great Stuff!
Hit: 5 Stars

Just looking at the outside of cover of CeCe Winans' 5th solo album, one can tell that this isn't gonna be like her RIAA Certified Gold Worship based album Alabaster Box. And after first listen? One definetly KNOWS that this is not the same type of album. To me, this is CeCe at her best. This album is a like a rollercoaster of urban/r&b/pop sounds. I got done listening to this album and all I could say is, "Man, she can SANG!". This 13 track CD starts off with the radio friendly tune "Heavenly Father" and quickly moves on into the fun "Anybody Wanna Pray" which features a guest spot from none other than one of CCM's hottest rap groups, GRITS. "Say a Prayer" is next, which is also the first single released to AC/CHR, and hopefully, radio will not pass this one up. This is one of the best songs on the album and has all the ingredients of making it a summer time hit for CeCe. The acoustic based "More Than Just a Friend" reminded me of Anointed, and I could easily see them singing this song. "No One" and "For Love Alone" slow things down, but only for a little while, when CeCe comes back in, with one of the coolest songs on the album, "Out My House". "Holy Spirit, Come and Fill This Place" is a worshipful tune, cowritten by Babbie Mason, that CeCe really shines as a vocalist. And rather than just fizzling out with a slow tune, like most album have a tendency to do, CeCe closes out with another great upbeat song, "Better Place". Not only is CeCe one of the best vocalists in the industry, but she, along with producers Brown Bannister, Robbie Buchanan, and Tommy Sims, has crafted one of the most delightful albums to come out this year. CeCe has done it again!

Free Music Review: Excellent!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is simply a WONDERFUL product of uplifting, spiritual, and joyful music. Although this is my very first Cece Winans CD, but it won't be my last. She is such a talented lady with a rich, strong and pleasant voice. Cece's sincerity about Christ Jesus is very evident and you cannot help but hear her love for Him and people in each song. I find all the songs truly BEAUTIFUL and some, in addition, quite moving.

"Say a Prayer," "Anybody Wanna Pray," "More Than Just a Friend," are three of my favorites; they are very upbeat, and I just cannot help but SMILE from ear to ear while listening. When I hear her sing, "No One," oh, it is so much more than a song, it's her prayer...and a prayer she shares with us, her listeners. "Holy Spirit, Come Fill This Place," is another prayerful song, that makes me stop, bow my head and become more aware of the Spirit's presence....sometimes I forget to ask to be filled with His Holy Spirit, and I am so grateful that He will-this song is a good reminder to me.

This CD does have a contemporary flair and, hopefully, will reach out to those not yet saved. It is a happy and positive CD! Don't let the popular sound of this CD fool you, however--it is nothing but worship to our Lord God. Cece, thank you, Sister, for a great CD! God Bless you and your family!

Free Music Review: HOT cd from CeCe!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a fan of CeCe Winans for a long long time, but this is the first solo album of hers that I've had on perpetual play since I got it. Not only are there some amazingly great songs on this album, but EVERY song is good, and the whole album is infinitely listenable. This is a CD that I LOVED the first time I heard it. Now how often can you say that happens? Not often enough, I say...

CeCe's voice is great, of course, and the songs are hot, singable, danceable, and groovable. Seriously good producing on this album. Also, CeCe doesn't skirt around Christianity, but addresses it fully in songs like "Anybody Wanna Pray," "Out of My House," and "Holy Spirit Fill This Place." Just want to say that this album is on par with any of it's secular counterparts, and in fact surpasses any secular R&B albums I've heard.

Faithful fans of CeCe will love this album, as her trademark voice is showcased fully (of course!) and new fans will be instantly drawn in by her voice & the music. CeCe isn't just resting on her laurels, but has obviously been working to get a group of really great songs as well as experimenting with different styles. This is definitely not "formula," but will satisfy even the most traditional of fans.

Free Music Review: Amen To This!~!
Hit: 5 Stars

Well, CeCe Winans has definitely taken some time to rearrange her styling since her last album, "Alabaster Box". Ms. Winans is hitting the dance floor with this album with sultry grooves, delicious beats and a God sent message. This cd would heat would heat up those church get-togethers! In songs like "Anybody Wanna Pray", "More Than Just My Friend" and "Ou My House", CeCe experiments with a more hip-hop/urban feel with wonderful riffs and beats. On "Say A Prayer", "Heavenly Father" and "Better Place" she goes full dance! with more of a pop feel to them, they will get anyone up and groovin'! Ms. Winans does not let it all become a party, on "No One"(a cover from Marc Anthony) and "For Love Alone" are possibly some of the best ballads she has ever done. I highly recommend this for younger audience members. But, the older generation could easily find a way to appreciate this genre! So with all due respect!! this cd is a must!!

Free Music Review: Great album from CeCe
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a very nice album and a great new look for CeCe. My favorites are 'Get Out My House' and 'Heavenly Prayer'. Through this album, she gives good ways of praying to God.

However, I have one problem with this album. In all the reviews and articles I've read, I haven't come across any acknowledgement to Beverly Crawford for recording 'Come Fill This Place' previously. I don't think that's fair or right. A lot of people listed that as one of their favorite songs before this new CeCe album came out. I mean if folks can give credit to LaShun, Donnie, or anyone else when someone else re-does the songs they did previously, why doesn't Beverly deserve that same respect? Now I know it's all about God, but there's nothing wrong with giving credit where credit is though.

Anyways, this is a very nice album. Stlylistically, it's a departure from her last album and similar to her "Everlasting Love" album. One of the year's best.
