Free Music Notes for A New Day Has ComeFree Music Review: Celine's Amazing Comeback Hit: 5 Stars
After a couple of years hiatus to spend precious time to welcome little Rene Charles into her family, Celine invites us into her world with A New Day Has Come, an intimate and moving portrait of her life to date.
Immediately you can sense we are listening to a more natural, relaxed and joyous Celine (for obvious reasons.) Her voice seems to have a new effortless tenderness and, though not written by her personally, the lyrics in all of the tracks are a perfect reflection of this new chapter in her life.
From the beautiful, soaring uptempo opening track "I'm Alive" through poignant, emotional ballads (such as "Goodbye's The Saddest Word" and "The Greatest Reward") and upbeat pop gems (like "Rain, Tax" and "When the Wrong One Loves You Right"), A New Day Has Come showcases why Celine's phenomenal talent has sold millions of albums worldwide.
What sets this album apart from Celine's previous releases, is the experimentation with many different musical styles - all of which reflect THAT voice in their own special way.
Of course you couldn't have a Celine Dion album without the power ballads ("I Surrender" is a stunning display of Celine's incredible vocal ability)...but we wouldn't have it any other way! There's also covers of old-time classics ("At Last" and "Nature Boy" with a contemporary twist) - and whoever would have pictured Celine as a dance-floor diva? ("Sorry For Love" leaves Cher's "Believe" for dead!) Perhaps the most un-typically Celine track on the album is the sensational "10 Days" - a smooth, groovy, upbeat ditty that you would probably expect more from the likes of Sheryl Crowe or even Norah Jones!
Two versions of the gorgeous title track (I personally prefer the acoustic version), plus an exquisite collection of intimate family photos included within the breath-takingly beautiful CD cover and booklet, complete the package.
Welcome back, Celine!

I love that cd so so much so much. I really liked the song "I'm Alive" to the soundtrack movie of "Stuart Little 2". Another song I truly love so much is "Prayer"! Reading the lyric's of that song all the words are so so beautiful just think of those beautiful words that's what royalty people would say. Another song I like is "At Last" that song is such a original masterpiece sanged by Etta James one of my favorite singers in the world. Another song I like is "Sorry For Love"! That song talks about when we are unkind to people showing lack of the wonderful qualities they will ignore us that our own cruelty bringing pain and sorrow upon their own good name is our resentment is sorely tried is samething showing our uncontrollable actions of not being calm and kind to people! Tell ya the truth actions do speak louder than words but if we want to be nice to people we have to forgive them the cause of their transgressions, then, the person who hurts our feelings of offending us they will apologize to us first before we forgive that person. We all want to have our own say in our heart. The person has to make a big change is to be kind to people. Here's a phrase I quoted in my poetry book on "Changes" is this: Kind thoughts and words turns into pleasant actions. People thoughts who are smart of being nice can turn into actions too. So, that song gives that experience! Tell ya when you hear an experience in a song it can be a valuable lesson for all of us we have to keep that reminder close to our hearts forever because it is true and wise. Another song I like is "Nature Boy" that song is such an old original masterpiece sanged by Nat King Cole, then, his daughter Natalie Cole! That song is so so beautiful so beautiful. Everybody out there who is a big Celine Dion fan should get this cd it sure is wonderful.
Free Music Review: definitely a keeper Hit: 5 Stars
Don't let the naysayers turn you off to this album. After firmly establishing herself as a pop diva, then taking a hiatus from the recording studio, Celine Dion came back to deliver this wonderful album. The best cuts are prime examples of pure pop pleasure. In fact, it makes me wish she had delayed her first career retrospective, All the Way, to include some of these songs.
Two songs on the album, the title track and I'm Alive, are soul-affirming songs with lyrics that can lift you up, when you're feeling down. The instrumentation of I'm Alive is very catchy, a vague hint of Carribean beat, with synth-pop overtones. I can't believe the reviewers that griped about the album containing two versions of A New Day Has Come- more is more, folks. The radio mix is nice, but the "slow" version is just a masterpiece. It is the same version that Dion used for her Vegas performances (after the set list was tweaked). Everytime I listen to this album cut, I think of Celine taking the stage, with her flowing black gown.
I Surrender seems to rile the critics, who dismiss it as yet another chest-thumping power-pop ballad. I think it's an incredible coda to prior ballads like It's All Coming Back To Me, and To Love You More. The gospel-chorus feel near the end is just astounding.
Right In Front of You seems like it could have been a radio hit- too bad it didn't get airplay. I love the synth-string hook, and the chorus is downright infectious.
Contrary to the Amazon critic, Sorry for Love is NOT recycled Cher. Another wasted opportunity for a great maxi-single. I'm sure it would have been a number-one hit on the Dance chart. P.S.- As much as I love, LOVE this song, please, don't think think that Celine actually holds that note for that long!
Those are my favorite tracks, more than enough to make this an essential Celine Dion album.
Free Music Review: A New Day Has Come, An AWESOME Edition!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I am a HUGE Celine fan, and this is a spectacular CD. Some people only like her in French, but I love Celine, and I love her voice, no matter the language. I do find, however, that the French ones tend to be more soothing, and I tend to like them better. BUT...all her CDs are great. This one has a different sound to it though. My favorite songs on this CD are: "I'm Alive," "Right In Front Of You," "Have You Ever Been In Love," "I Surrender," "Superlove," "Sorry For Love," "Aun Existe Amor," "The Greatest Reward," and "Nature Boy." You may say, well that's the whole CD practically...well, each of those songs inspired my life. "Aun Existe Amor" is the Spanish rendition of "L'amour Existe Encore." This has had a lot of critisism, but personally, I almost like it better. If you just look at the words of her songs, they are so powerful, and with her very passionate voice, you can understand why she has touched so many people's lives. If you LOVE this CD, I recommend all her CDs..;) but particularly Falling Into You, All The Way, and The Collector's Series: Volume One. My favorite Celine album of all time, is The Colour of My Love. So, you may want to check that out as well. If you aren't familiar with Celine, she has about 36 CDs, over 300 songs, over 60 singles, and she does do some remakes. She doesn't write any of her music (about three songs - "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day," "Treat Her Like A Lady," and she helped with "Ce N'était Qu'un Rêve"). Also, Sony regionalizes their songs. So, you will not see "Superlove" on A New Day Has Come if you buy it in the United States. If you get an IMPORT, you will find it. Sony does this to boost the CD industry in other countries, particularly Japan. This way the US version looks less appealing....aren't they nice? You will find it on most of her CDs. All The Way does that the most.
Free Music Review: Celine's Best Yet! Hit: 5 Stars
Now this is an awesome album! I own eleven Celine CDs and A New Day Has Come is by far my very favorite. This has a certain "newness" that makes it enjoyable to listen to time and time again. Unlike her latest effort One Heart, the freshness isn't cluttered and overly stated. There are sixteen songs and each one coincides to make a well done, enjoyable comeback CD. I usually don't like the song At Last but Celine's rendition is killer! It is awesome. Shania Twain and her producer husband Mutt Lange contribute(limited) backing vocals to Goodbye's(The Saddest Word). Mutt also produced. The CD begins with I'm Alive, a song that made me feel a lot better after 9/11, and ends with her soothing rendition of Nature Boy. My rating of each song is as follows: 1)I'm Alive 9/10 2)Right In Front Of You 10/10 3)Have You Ever Been In Love 9/10 4)Rain,Tax(It's Inevitable) 10/10 5)A New Day Has Come(Radio Remix) 9/10 6)Ten Days 8/10 7)Goodbye's(The Saddest Word) 10/10 8)Prayer 7/10 9)I Surrender 9/10 10)At Last 10/10 11)Sorry For Love 10/10 12)Aun Existe Amor 10/10 13)The Greatest Reward 10/10 14)When The Wrong One Loves You Right 10/10 15)A New Day Has Come 8/10 16)Nature Boy 7/10As you can see, there isn't one filler track on here. I think this is an exceptionally wonderful album that supplies you with everything you'd look for in a Celine CD and more. Her vocals are absolutely untouchable and off the charts- and not just on the ballads. This is the closest thing to a perfect CD that I own. The music is incredibly enjoyable, the packaging is BEAUTIFUL and, of course, it's sang by the spectacular Celine Dion. Does it get any better? I've had this CD almost two years now and I still can't stop raving about it. A New Day Has Come is a stellar CD and it is definitely worth investing in.
