Free Music Review: GIVE THE GIRL HER DUE!

I'm sure that many of the so-called critics will dismiss this album in the same way they have dismissed most of the work she has done since she became phenomenonally successful. Then again, most of them probably had their review written before they even bothered to listen to the album. One will rag on her because she's not a songwriter. Another will trash her for being too bombastic. And yet another will criticize her for singing too many ballads. I think the most astounding criticism I've read complained that her voice was souless and mechanical! Yes, her voice is technical perfection but not to the exclusion of a wellspring of genuine emotion. In fact, I would say that those two things in existence together are what set her apart from MOST singers. If there's one area in which she CANNOT be criticized, it is that astounding instrument which is her voice. That voice is the most important criterion upon which her music should be critiqued. Listen to the amazing note she hits near the end of "Sorry For Love" and answer one question for me. WHO else can do that?? Incidentally, this song has GOT to be a single. Twenty years of training and discipline have gone into the creation of that voice and it is NOT the result of studio wizardry (I have seen her live in concert twice), so please give the girl her due! Other highlights of the album include the uptempo,life-affirming "I'm Alive", the tender ballads "Have You Ever Been In Love" and "Aun Existe Amor", the shimmering title cut, and the simple, poignant "Nature Boy". Anyone who appreciates real music as opposed to most of the ... record companies put out these days should own this record...Free Music Review: A New Celine Has Come...

Excellent work. After a two year hiatus from the public eye. Celine Dion has returned with a new album that has just the right mix of songs. The album starts off with it's first track "I'm Alive", which is a positive, vibrant, great song to start off the album. "Right In Front Of You" is incredibly catchy and it will definitely grow on you. "Have You Ever Been In Love?" is the first ballad and incredibly powerful. "Rain, Tax, (It's Enevitable)" at first the song seems not like Celine's style, but after listening to it. It's a great change, it's something totally differen.t "A New Day Has Come" No explanation needed. The song can speak for itself.
"Ten Days" is a upbeat track while "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)" is the most touching song on the album. "Prayer" is an excellent song for those who like a slow song. "I Surrender" is an awesome ballad. "At Last" Celine has done a great job covering this classic. "Sorry For Love" excellent style and fast paced song, totally Celine. "Aun Existe Amor" is alright, not my cup of tea, but it has a great tempo.
"The Greatest Reward" is another perfect hit for Celine. "When The Wrong One Loves You Right" possibly my favorite tack on the album, fast paced and catchy. "A New Day Has Come" is a slower version of the remix, which I think is pretty cool. "Nature Boy" to me seems very different, but very intriguing at the same time.
All in all, excellent album, excellent comeback, Welcome Back Celine! We've all missed you!

I say "Bravo," and I mean it too!! She has yet again proven thatshe is simply the best thing that the music industry has to offer. Her new album shows such an awesome diversity of musical styles and her own vocal ability. The title track "A NEW DAY HAS COME", is her personal testiment to how much her new baby has changed her life. And there are two different versions of of this song on the album. One version is the faster radio version, while the other is a slower and much deeper ballad. "I'm Alive" and "Sorry for Love" are two fast techno-sounding songs that despite their tempo and electronic effects, still manage to showcase her incredible voice. "At Last" and "Nature Boy" are two classic songs that Celine has covered in her own style and they are awesome. "Have You Ever Been In Love" and "The Greatest Reward" are two typical Celine love ballads. But the best ballad on the whole CD is "I Surrender," which is quite possibly Celine's most gutt-wrenching and most heart felt power ballads that she has ever recorded. When you listen to this song turn your radio up very loud so you can feel the power that this song delivers. "Right in Fron Of You", "Rain,Tax", and "When The Wrong One Loves You Right" are all uptempo songs. And finally "Ten Days" has to be my favorite song on the new album. It's uptempo rock feel is just enough to get you in the mood to have a good time. It sounds like a Sheryl Crow song to me.... But basically this is maybe her best album yet. And if you are a true Celine Fan you must have this album. And If your not then buy it anyway, you'll eventually come around !!
Free Music Review: What a wonderful DAY

I never thought that I'd be saying this but I really like this CD! I'm not a big fan of Celine's music. Never really was. I like her past hits like "because you loved me" and "my heart will go on" but that's where it ended. Until now that is! For some reason I bought this CD, A NEW DAY HAS COME. I've heard the first single on the radio and I liked it instantly. Couldn't escape it either! But anyway this CD is good if not great.It begins with the lush-upbeat "I'm alive" which is such an awesome track. It's like being on the beach (just like the artwork on the cover). Also Celine's voice is calmer on the up-tempos and mid-tempos. Of course A NEW DAY HAS COME includes some very passionate ballads. Celine's famous for those and she doesn't disappoint with "I surrender." Quite possibly one of the best Celine ballads ever.
Aside from what some critics have said, I think her remake of "at last" is absolutely wonderful. Her voice is strong yet gentle. A natural fit for the tune. The "nature boy" remake on the other had is not that good. Then again I really haven't heard the original version. Celine also tries a little top 40 dance number with "sorry for love." It's a very catchy groovy track. Right up there with the other so called "dance divas".
A NEW DAY HAS COME is an awesome CD. I think fans and non-fans alike will enjoy it lots. I'd say it's Celine's best but I'm not that familiar with her other albums. Her voice has remained in top form and DAY secures her thrown as one of the best female vocalists ever. Way to go Celine!

Just when we thought there was nothing else Celine could surprise us with, she releases "A New Day Has Come". This album is definitely her best yet. There is an aura of freshness and emotion in each one of the 16 marvelous tracks. From the first tracks, "I'm Alive" and "Right in Front of You" one can feel the familiar voice in musical genre that hadn't been touched before. The title track is sure to become a hymn for all those who have been renewed by the arrival of a magical person in our lives. Just as there are surprises in "A New Day Has Come", there are the classic, deep from the soul love songs like "Have You Ever Been In Love" and "Goodbye's the Saddest Word". A classic rendition of "At Last" (an Etta James classic) and Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" add a magical touch to this album. "A New Day Has Come" also contains perfectly crafted rhythmic tracks that are sure to make it to the top of the dance charts, such as "Sorry for Love". "Rain, Tax, it's Inevitable", and the irresistible "Ten Days" make this album complete offering more freshness from the totally renewed yet classic Celine. Overall, this album has impressed me like few have. "A New Day Has Come" is such a well rounded and carefully crafted production that it is sure to become an instant classic. Fall in love with Celine all over again!
