Free Music Review: One of 1990's Pop Peaks (4.5 stars)
Hit: 5 Stars

With "Falling Into You", Celine Dion has set a very high standard which proves very difficult to beat even by herself. "Let's Talk About Love" and "A New Day Has Come" albums came close, but did not quite match the variety and overall quality of this one. Unbiased listening to this pre-Titanic set of songs makes a music fan acknowledge Celine's superstar status.

The first six songs as such -- and also their sequence, presenting the singer in six different vocal environments following one another in the best possible way -- are hands down one of the coolest things to happen to pop in 1990's. It begins with the opening Jim Steinman's MeatLoaf-ish epic "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and ends with the cover of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself". In between, there is also the signature Diane Warren track "Because You Loved Me", the danceable "Make You Happy" and two of the best cuts here: the title track with haunting percussions and Celine's truly definitive interpretation and dramatic latin-tinged guitar ballad "Seduces Me".

Aldo Nova contributed two songs (and a third one on the international version of this CD), of which "I Love You" is interesting with its simple, plain beauty of songwriting and vocal treatment. The songbird also remade three of her tracks from 1995 French Album (D'Eux). Although the result here is okay, French language and original arrangements somehow work better for the French versions.

Another highlight of the set is the cover of Tina Turner's breakthrough "River Deep, Mountain High" which should convince all of Celine's ability to sing next to anything. And before this tour de force comes to a tender end with "Fly", African chants are featured in the power ballad "Call the Man". This tune also boasts the short but glorious acoustic guitar solo by Ottmar Liebert. A real treat.

The elaborate production is what basically makes this album sound so good. But the 1996 Album of the Year Grammy was by no means undeserved. One can just wish there were more albums like this -- at the same time commercial and honest work of art.

Free Music Review: The Album That Made Her A Superstar
Hit: 5 Stars

Celine Dion was definitely already a well established star vefore this album. She was coming off the successful "Colour of My Love" album which had gone multi-platinum and given her her first #1 hit with "The Power of Love." But it was "Falling Into You" which made her a worldwide phenomenon. It gave her three monster hits which weren't only huge hits at adult contemporary *as most of her singles are* but they were all huge on pop radio too all making the top 5. "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" kicks it off with its original extended version. Celine's vocal performance is amazing and it's an epic song if ever there was one. "Because You Loved Me" became Celine's biggest hit to date going to #1 and has became a classic love song. "All By Myself" definitely stands out and is one of my favorite Celine tracks. She belts it out like there's no tomorrow and the composition is outstanding. Still, the highlight is without a doubt "River Deep Mountain High" which was originally done by Tina Turner. The song itself is icredible and it definitely displays Celine in her element. A classic. It's worth buying the album alone. But what makes this album so great is the filler is just as good as the singles. "Declaration of Love" is a fun sort of jazzy, upbeat track. "I Love You" is a 50's-ish ballad with sweet vocals from Celine and "Call the Man" is a gorgeous, catchy ballad with a great chorus. The album closes with "Fly" dedicated to Celine's niece who passed away from cystic fibrosis. A beautiful tear-jerker.

This is a land-mark album in pop music. It represents everything that makes it so great. There is no excuse to miss out on such a great piece of work. Great work from one of the best voices in music history.

Free Music Review: Falling Into You is her best album yet!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Falling Into You is my favorite album by Mrs. Celine Dion!!!! She is the best singer, with the best voice. If you wanna know what the songs are like read the previews below:

1. It's all coming back to me now - This song is 7 minutes long! It's a long song, but Celine shows off her vocals here.

2. Because you loved me - I so love this song, it's a beautiful ballad!

3. Falling into you - A romantic song!

4. Make you happy - A poppish song, it sounds pretty good. I like it!

5. Seduces me - A sexy romantic song, sung by Celine.

6. All by myself - I love this song! It's really good.

7. Declaration of love - This song is cool!

8. Dreamin' of you - One of my favorite songs on here, i love the background music to it and Celine's voice fits it well.

9. I love you - A wonderful song!

10. If that's what it takes - The english version of Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, i like both versions!

11. I don't know - This is also the english version of Je Sais Pas, i like both versions!

12. River Deep, Mountain High - This was Tina Turner's song but Celine re-did it her way, I like Celine's way!

13. Your light - I love this song! It's another one of my favorites. It's only on canadian versions though, sry.

14. Call the man - This song is a good ballad. Nice! I used to not like it along time ago when I first heard it on the computer. But now I love it!

15. Fly - A sad song about Celine's niece Karine who died from Cystic Fibrosis in 1993.

As you can see this CD totally rocks! I have had this CD burned for me by another Celine friend online, and she had the canadian version so thats how I got your light on mine! :) Anyways, I suggest you BUY this CD right away, don't wait! Celine you rock girl!
PS. Any song by Celine is worth listening to!!

Free Music Review: One of the best albums of the decade.
Hit: 5 Stars

Celine Dion is probably the best thing to come out of Canada musically since Rush, because her breathtaking voice can equal anything that the great Alex Lifeson can play on his guitar. She has released some very good albums before, but no previous records, or mabye even future ones ( though "Lets Talk About Love" comes close ) will ever equal the spectacular majesty presented in "Falling into You". As always, the production is big and very, very clean, almost perfect, somewhat of a trademark in her recordings. The musical arrangements are even bigger. The wonderfully crisp piano and strings seem to add new depths to her singing. The drums and bass go from earth shaking to a gentle heartbeat with each new track, not to mention the often tearing guitar riffs complemented nicely by the large cast of rythm and horn instruments. Celine's voice has a beutifull feel on every song. The sharp album opener "Its All Coming Back to me Now" is so beutifully sung it would have been o.k. to make it the album's only song, but the lush background voices togeather with Celine on songs like "Call the Man", "Because you Loved Me", "If Thats What it Takes" and "Fly" are what fuels the album. These tunes are well mixed with swinging rockers like the superpaced "River Deep Mountain High" and "Declaration of Love", along with INXS like funk-rock on "Make you Happy" and "Dreamin of You"."Fallin Into You" is an album with absolutely no filler, it delivers from start to finish, which is something very rare these days. To give it five stars is not enough, but to find out you have to listen for yourself. As always Celine does not dissapoint.

Free Music Review: Falling Into Celine
Hit: 5 Stars

This album introduced me to Celine Dion. That day I purchased the album, I was supposed to get Mariah Carey's 'Daydream' but the retailer said they ran out of copies, so I picked this album instead--and boy, I was in for a surprise! I ended buying more copies of Celine's because I enjoyed it so much. From then on, I became a Celine fan, and I can say that 'Falling Into You' is her most definitive work--focused, poised, powerful and solid. This album displays Celine's vocals in top form.

My favorite moments from the album: there are 2 epics in the album, and svengali producer Jim Steinman helmed these: 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' and 'Call The Man' in which Celine plays storyteller of love forgotten and weary souls amidst an amazing backdrop of instrumentation, singing with so much emotion and gusto! 'Declaration of Love' and 'River Deep Mountain High' may seem like cheesy over the top diva-uptempos but these ditties are so irresistible that you'll be singing at the top of your lungs in no time. 'Fly' is wrenching and touching ballad dedicated to Celine's niece who died of cystic fibrosis. The song is so ethereal, surreal and poignant you'll be reaching for the tissues. My ultimate favorite is the subtle 'If That's What It Takes', the simplest and honest song Celine made for the set. Others may disregard the song, but I think is my diamond in the rough. I highly recommend this album to pop music lovers. This album didnt win the Album of the Year at the Grammy's for no reason! Pick this up and fall in love with Celine.
