Free Music Notes for Falling Into YouFree Music Review: My first album, and by far not the last... Hit: 5 Stars
Celine came into my life when I was in the Fourth Grade. I didn't understand her really..what she was saying, that Fly was about her niece...I did understand though...her emotion...you can feel it. I don't mind her doing remakes, because I usually like hers better. I am generally not a huge fan of redo's...but she just puts the emotion in them. Some versions come with the songs "Sola Otra Vez," "Your Light," and "(You make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman." Australian versions are a little different. Japanese version also includes "To Love You More." A year before it's release in the United States. Sola Otra Vez is the Spanish rendition of "All By Myself." "Fly," "I Don't Know," and "If That's What It Takes" are English renditions of songs off of "D'eux." ("Vole," "Je Sais Pas," and "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore.") There are FIVE cover songs on this album, which many people have been upset at. ("River Deep, Mountain High," "All By Myself," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," "Falling Into You," and "(You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman.") Overall a stellar CD...I think there's a reason it sold over 27,000,000 copies worldwide...;) (10x Platinum in the US!) In short: It's definitely a must...
Free Music Review: Falling Never Sounded So Good Hit: 5 Stars
Though Celine Dion had steadily built a strong commercial following with her first three English language albums, FALLING INTO YOU was the beginning of her world domination as the planet's preeminent pop vocalist. Though her first three albums contained definite gems, there were also alot of duds(her last two cds contained nine--yes NINE--songs penned by schlock-mistress Diane Warren). This is her first truly great recording from beginning to end. Seemingly channeling the spirit of Meat Loaf(oh wait, he's still alive-oops), she tears into opening track 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now', and the results aren't nearly as cheesy as one might suspect. There's only one Warren song here, that being 'Because You Loved Me', which actually remains one of her better compositions, and Dion's biggest hit to date. Among covers, her take on 'All By Myself' supercedes the original, and though 'River Deep, Mountain High' somewhat falters under Jim Steinman's cheesy, bombastic production, Dion does manage a valiant vocal effort, something consistent throughout the album. It's easy to see why Dion remains a moving target with critics(the follow-up,LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE, though a massive commerical success, was for the most part a dud), but those who know her only in passing should investigate this sterling disc, which remains the benchmark in her sometimes spotty catalog.
Free Music Review: Celine's Masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
FALLING INTO YOU is one of Celine's best, if not the best CD she's ever released. It was a long wait, since 1993's COLOUR OF MY LOVE, but it was well worth the wait. Starting with the first single "Because You Loved Me" also featured in the movie UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL, a beautiful ballad which Celine shines on vocally, the song was written by Diane Warren. The follow up single "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" is breathtaking, the vocals are perfect and the arrangement is excellent. Throughout the album there is excellent material over and over. On ballads like "If That's What It Takes" or "I Don't Know", once again she shines with excellent vocals and perfect arrangements in the song. The last two tracks especially take my breath away, the gospel style "Call The Man", and the resonance of "Fly", simply beautiful. Her rendition of "All By Myself", is superb. As well on FALLING INTO YOU there are excellent uptempo songs such as "Your Light" (only on certain versions of the album), "River Deep Mountain High", "Make You Happy", "Declaration of Love" and many others. This is most likely her best album, there is not one filler song to be found, just quality in the production and arrangements, as well as her vocals, which are at top form.
Free Music Review: Positively Celine's Best CD to date Hit: 5 Stars
I purchased this CD in 1996 when Celine's popularity was slowly rising. Despite the fact that over four years have elapsed, it still happens to be one of my most frequently listened-to CDs. 'Falling Into You' happens to be my all-time favorite song. This is largely attributed to its enchanting rythm and sweet, if somewhat sad, melody. While the entire CD is very enjoyable, certain tracks are exceptionally good. They are: 1)It's all coming back to me now-This rather long song (over 7 mins long!) is an extremely powerful song which is truly emotion-packed. 2)Because you loved me-The OST of 'Up, Close and Personal' is different from most songs in the sense that it both the chorus and verses are of roughly the same tune. The repetition, suprisingly, effectively enhances this song. 4)Make You Happy-A cheerful and song which shows that Celine's voice is not limited to love ballads. 11)If That's What It Takes-Even though the original french version (Pour Que Tu Maimes Encore) is slightly better, Celine injects just as emotion in this song. 14)Fly-Strangely enough, this version is more, if not, as passionate, than the one found in Deux (Vole). All in all, I strongly feel this CD outdoes all her others, the phenomenally-successful 'Let's Talk About Love' included.
Free Music Review: better as a whole than ANY Mariah or Whitney album Hit: 5 Stars
I am not the biggest Celine Dion fan, I'll actually go on record and say I haven't liked anything after Let's Talk About Love. However, My mom used to own this cd and I heard it so much that I ended up buying my own copy.
From the bombastic Steinman production of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" (which has to be heard in the full version), to the beautiful and sentimental "Because You Loved Me" to the poignant "Fly" to the fantastic "Call The Man" to "All By Myself", where Celine made one of the most dreadfully sappy 70's songs her own and made it good, to the soulful (and to think Mariah fans attack Celine for being "too vanilla", whatever) "Declaration Of Love" to the sexy "Seduces Me"... Celine Dion was able to do something the big voice divas usually are incapable of making... an album that is consistant.
Even though all together, I think there are more Mariah and Whitney songs out there that I like, neither of them has ever delivered an album as killer and consistant as this (I say these two because those are perhaps the biggest rivals Celine has in age and fanbase). I think the whole world became a Celine fan after this album. I also like "Let's Talk About Love" too but that album pales next to this record. It deserved it's Grammy IMO.
