"These Are Special Times" is a very 'nice' CD.Songs ranging from the contemporary "Feliz Navidad" to the R.Kelly Duet "I'm Your Angel" is quite a contrast on one CD. My favourites are "The Prayer" with Andrea Bocelli, and "I'm Your Angel". They are both indescribably beautiful. They could almost make you cry no matter what language you speak. They are so heartfelt and self-engrossing it feels like they are giving you a personal serenade. The climax of "The Prayer" being the phrase in the lead up to the chord they build up to and hold a long time gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. "Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful)" is exquisitely accompanied by a vocally lilting gospel choir. The title song "hese Are Special Times"s quite a contrast with a pop feel.
This is a great CD for all occasions even if it isn't Christmas.

The album has a mix of catchy and lovely tunes for Christmas. It opens with the traditional and majestic O Holy Night, featuring a combination of her gentle voice and the choir. The apt mix of carols, love songs, traditional Christmas music and warmth are all strong reasons why this album is a gem for Christmas. I especially like "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day" (one of the 2 rare songs Celine co-wrote, ever) because the lyrics are so true, topped with Celine's powerful voice at the end of the song. The album also contains 2 beautiful duets: I'm Your Angel and The Prayer which you will surely hold to your heart the moment you hear them. the last 2 tracks are especially lovely, when Celine sang with her whole family of 16, joining their voices in unison wishing us all Feliz Navidad. Celine's fine vocals shine on this album. Unlike most Christmas albums, it is not full of over done Christmas classics. Instead, you are treated to alot of original material such as "The Magic of Christmas Day", "Another Year Has Gone By", "Don't Save It All For Christmas Day" and others. My absolute favorites are "The Magic of Christmas Day" and the spine-tingling version of "O Holy Night". Unlike the screechy and annoying Christina Aguilera, Celine actually sings the songs, so you actually know what the lyrics to the songs are. Celine shows off her amazing vocal range throughout the whole album without over doing it. She could teach Ms Aguilera a thing or two about how it should be done. This album ranks up there with other holiday classic albums released by the Carpenters and Mariah Carey. Celine Dion's "These Are Special Times" could be considered her greatest, and perhaps one of the finest Christmas albums ever released. It is one of those CD's that gets you into the spirit of the holidays. With timeless classics like "The Christmas Song" and "O Holy Night," there is you need. One of the most compelling things on this album is Celine Dion's magnificent voice. It has never sounded better and if that is not enough, guests are featured on the album as well. R. Kelly, Andrea Bocelli, and even Celine's own family sing along in different songs such as "You Are My Angel" and "Feliz Navidad."
Even if you are not a Celine Dion fan, this is a CD that you should have in your collection. You can tell by the cover that this a soothing album with lots of heart. It's a good one to keep around to help take off that edge you get waiting for Christmas to arrive.

Celine Dion's Christmas album "These Are Special Times" has a little bit of everything from traditional holiday favorites like "Oh Holy Night", "Ave Maria", and "O Come All Ye Faithful", to Christmas "pop" classics including Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas", John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Happy Xmas", Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song", and Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad". Also included in this collection is her huge hit with R. Kelly "I'm Your Angel."
The songs on this album are very good and well performed, and this CD contains well over an hour's worth of Christmas music. You are indeed getting your money's worth here! Celine and her family (who also sing on the album's last two tracks) really throw their heart and soul into this album.
Any fan of Celine's music will absolutely love this Christmas CD to be enjoyed year round!
