I must confess to being dismayed, at times, when a great artist like Celine Dion has released a 16 song Holiday Collection for Christmas that is the absolute best produced CD ever - and its worth in commerce is less than a hot dog at the ball park. This is a Masterpiece. One you can hand down to your kids, or grandkids - right, a classic. And it never goes out of style because it is a classic! "O Holy Night" (sung as a duet with the fabulous Andrea Bocelli) is so heartrending along with the magnificent "I'm Your Angel" (sung as a duet with the great R. Kelly) truly reminds us all of what Christmas is all about. Worth 10 times the prices here....Free Music Review: Beautiful music from a beautiful voice

Celine Dion has one of the most beautiful and lovely singing voices ever recorded. On this Christmas album her gift truly shines brightly. None of the traditional Christmas carols are jazzed up (which is one of my pet peeves with many Christmas albums released today), and all of them are sang very sweetly. Celine's rendition of "O Holy Night" is not only the best treatment I've ever heard of that song (which is also my favorite Christmas song) but also quite possibly the most inspiring musical sound I've ever heard from a human voice.
This is a great Christmas album and a worthy addition to any Christmas music collection.

When I bought Celine Dion's Christmas album I knew to expect great music but I was a little upset that there wasn't enough traditional stuff. I was so wrong. The new music with the traditional combines for a stellar album. Celine's powerful voice is like no other in the world. If you doubt me, listen to O Holy Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, and Christmas Eve. Even if you're not a Celine Dion fan, you've got to buy this album just for The Prayer, her duet with Andrea Bocelli. It is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I first purchased this CD in Dec. 1998 upon release, it has become a family favorite. Truly this is the best Christmas album in a long time- it is touching, upbeat, traditional, world music mix all at the same time. Her absolutely clear voice sounds like that of angels. 'The Prayer' with Andrea Bocelli is pure brilliance, 'Another Year Has Gone By' is another favorite cut, 'I'm Your Angel' Duet is awesome! If you are looking for the beauty of Christmas, it is right here. A beautiful gift for family and friends. This is an amazing piece of work. This album is worth buying if only for one song - O Holy Night. I have listened to this song over and over again since she came out with this album in 1998. It's about 10 years now, and I am still deeply moved each and every time that I hear it. I even listen to it outside of the Christmas season. Truly the best rendition of this song ever performed... and it may never be topped. Ave Maria is another song that she sings with extreme emotion... and another one that makes me want to weep like an old Italian man at the opera. Well done.
