Free Music Notes for Celtic Treasure

Free Music Review: A great find!
Hit: 5 Stars

How often do you buy an album that has maybe only one or two songs on it that you care to listen to? But not this album. It starts out with a hauntingly bueatiful celtic melody that really grabs you, and ends with a pure rendition of Abide With Me. The arrangements keep the background music from overwhelming her voice, so her voice is always the prominent theme. I like this album better than Hayley's fist album, Pure, as this album is less focused on her New Zealand roots. I have been playing this once or twice a day now for weeks, and never tire of it. So even though this is not purely a celtic album, it is a great find for this celtic fan.

Free Music Review: GREAT CD
Hit: 5 Stars

I saw Hayley on PBS as part of the Celtic Woman performance. As a result, we purchased the DVD Celtic Woman - A New Journey: Live at Slane Castle, Ireland. One of my favorite selections from the performance is the Hayley and Mauv duet--The Last Rose of Summer--and this duet is reproduced on Hayley's CD. The other selections on this CD are "Hayley" and she's great. I really like her voice and her ability to sing different types of songs. I'm sorry she's not performing with Celtic Woman at this time.

Free Music Review: Not as good as Odyssey but plenty good enough!
Hit: 5 Stars

For Hayley Westenra fans, this CD might be not be quite up to your elevated expectations but buy it anyway. I've rated two tracks 5 stars on my RealPlayer, Summer Rain and le Notte del Silencio. The latter is unforgettable, worth the price of the CD all by itself! I gave eight tracks four stars and only two tracks three stars. Of course I have the import version (Treasure) which I highly recommend. So while not quite as good as Odyssey in which I rated eight songs as worthy of five stars, her angelic voice and expert phrasing will still move your heart and make you feel glad to be alive!

Free Music Review: A Pure 5 Stars

This album of Celtic standards is truly one of the most beautiful I've heard in a long time. For a girl of 19 to have this kind of vocal maturity is amazing... she gets better with each new recording.

Hayley has a clear, and pure voice that makes these familiar songs sound brand new. Though the whole album is a treat, the two hymns are inspiring. Others have done this repitoire, and done it well; none has done it better.

Hayley has a new recording of "West Side Story" due out soon; I can't wait. In the meantime, do not fail to grab this one.

Free Music Review: Hayley With Heavenly Voice
Hit: 5 Stars

I have yet to purchase the album "Celtic Treasure". Though know from her previous works that she has the most beautiful and soothing voices I have ever heard. She still has room to grow at such a very young age and is already internationally recognized around the world. She is definitely one of the best classical music singers out there. I highly recommend her and can't wait to hear her new album. Also if you get a chance, check her out in her personal concert live from New Zealand and also the collaboration with Celtic Woman. Both are wonderful concerts to watch. Enjoy!
