Free Music Notes for Raining UpFree Music Review: Very meditative and Celtically lilting Hit: 4 Stars
The CD is a very meditative and impressive piece of so-called "New Age" music. The didgeridoo adds a really bassy Jew's harp-like sound in "Skidoo" (probably named after the snowmobile) and "Tri Fhidili". "An raibh tu ag an gcarraig?", the only vocal piece in the entire CD literally means Were you at the rock? and sounds like a love song (notice "Vailintin"), but in essence means Were you at Catholic Mass? It begins like a telephone call; all 13 of the other pieces are instrumentals.
"Within the Blue Suite" has an interesting windy transition from the 2nd to the 3rd movement but ends abruptly. Most of these pieces are the traditional 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3 Irish dances. When I listen to "There Is No Night", I can imagine drinking green tea with a colleen while watching a sunset on Galway Bay. St. Finan's Isle, also known as Green Isle, is an island located not far from Acharacle, Scotland. Mairead's "Finan's Isle Suite" provokes soft meditations about Bovaglie's Plaid, the isle itself, the setting sun, and the butterfly. I highly recommend this CD because of its beauty and energy.
Free Music Review: fantastic violin player Hit: 4 Stars
I was absolutely awe-struck by her music on Celtic Woman-Live at Slane Castle. The way that she moved and still played beautifully. I really looked forward to hearing Raining UP. Unfortunately, I feel that her accompanying music tended to distract from her talent. I would have preferred to have heard her given the attention so I could enjoy her playing. This album does not damage her ability at all

Having attended a live Celtic Woman concert, I was familiar with the wonderful dancing spirit called Mairead. Those who love the sound of the fiddle and celtic music should enjoy adding this CD to their collection.
