This is a wonderful CD containing a variety of traditional Irish, classical and contemporary music. The majority contains vocals by some of the most talented soloists Ireland has to offer, but some of the tracks are fantastic instrumental numbers by the groups violinist, Mairead Nesbitt. I saw the special on PBS and loved it. When I saw the cd available on Amazon I had to get it. These 4 vocalists are talented at their craft. They sound like the proverbial angels. The fiddler is very good but I don't like her as much as Eileen Ivers, who is a remarkable Irish fiddler. A New Journey. Honestly, I do not have the words to describe it. Only that it is the most beautiful, inspirational, and powerful of all Irish music that I have heard thus far. The recordings are great on the cd. Having purchased the deluxe cd package with 4 extra songs and the locket was a good idea. However - I would have really enjoyed the Complete DVD-CD set as there are even more songs on the DVD that didn't make the cd cut. But which ever you choose, you will not be disappointed. I went with my wife last year to see their live show when it came to town. I'm a rock fan, but these ladies just bowled me over! One of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. They all have the most beautiful voices you will ever hear.
I bought this special edition CD along with the DVD of the same name as a gift for my wife. She loves them!
