Free Music Notes for Celtic WomanFree Music Review: They Earned Every Star Hit: 5 StarsThe level to which we appreciate, admire, and adore the angelic harmony and orchestration of Celtic Woman will vary, but most feel they are taken to a new height of musical bliss when we truly listen to this phenomenal group. Composer and arranger David Downes does a masterful job of creating and blending the voices and instruments of Celtic Woman. Each lady has her own style and uniqueness, yet they are incredibly perfect in combination with each other. Watching them perform live in Louisville, KY, I not only appreciated the sound but the energy that flowed from the stage. Was some of the music prerecorded to make up for not having a full orchestra? Sure. Did it make the voices of Meav, Chloe, Lisa, and Orla any less exciting? NO! And what about Mairead. She graced the stage with energy and excitement that made for a great time. Because these women have true talent and were able to break the world record for being at number one the longest with their debut album, they earned every star before the first note of the concert. My wife and I came with high expectations and we left well satisfied. Celtic Woman will be number one on my charts for a while to come. By the way, I just watched their Christmas DVD. Incredible!!! It is easy to see why it was their own Christmas album that replaced their debut album at number one on the world music charts. Also, should David Downes become so inspired as to arrange some music in the jazz genre for Celtic Woman, we will once again behold their ascent to number one, earning every star of the five stars we give them. Finally, since so many have described these voices as angelic, perhaps one day we will find their sound echoing the sentiments of heaven itself, singing classic and contemporary hymns that glorify the very God who gifted them with such great vocals. When all is said and done, I am sure to find Celtic Woman receiving another five-star review.
Free Music Review: Beautiful!! Hit: 5 StarsI love this CD. I never heard of Celtic Woman before, then one night I woke up and saw this CD on a commercial. At the time, I was looking for songs to use in my wedding, and (half-asleep) I saw one of the songs we were going to use - "You Raise Me Up." After the commercial went off, I went back to sleep and did a search for the CD the next day. After hearing the samples, I bought the disc. All I can say is, we didn't use Josh Groban's version of the song. Their version is so beautiful, and the voices are so pure. Once my fiance heard it, he was hooked. The other songs on the disc are also very enjoyable and relaxing. It is definitely worth the money spent on it. I'm so glad that I just happened to see the commercial when I did. Otherwise, I may have not known about this amazing group of women.
Free Music Review: Celtic Woman Fan Hit: 5 StarsI had never really heard anything by the Celtic Woman group until I was on this site looking for a CD for a friend of mine. I only had to listen to a few songs before I became an avid Celtic Woman fan. I'm always on the lookout for good Celtic music, so much of the music I have encountered is misnamed as Celtic simply because there's a bagpipe playing faintly in the background. The truly Scottish/Irish songs on this CD were my favorites, but all of the songs were very well done, and I admired the group's good harmony. Unlike so much of the music that you hear today, with the singer just wailing loudly into the microphone, these women actually sang, and the songs that they chose were good. I would highly reccomend this CD to anyone who appreciates good music, even if they're not huge fans of Celtic.
Free Music Review: celtic women Hit: 4 StarsI WOULD HAVE AWARDED FIVE STARS, EXCEPT FOR RARE , SLIGHT DECREASE IN DEPTH, BOTH MUSIC AND VOICE. I DON'T THINK IT'S MY EQUIPMENT. THOSE VOICES ARE OUIT OF THIS WORLD (i like celtic women, anyway). I PLAN TO ODER MORE OF THEIR DISCS.
Free Music Review: Totally Hooked! Hit: 5 StarsTrue confession time: I am hooked on Celtic Woman . . . and it's getting worse! Or should I say better? The first Celtic Woman album I bought was Chloe's Walking in the Air, then it was Meav's A Celtic Journey, and today I finally got the group's famous blow-out debut. Several of the tracks are also on Chloe's album, so I wasn't sure if I should get it, but I'm so glad I did. There are a lot of songs I haven't heard before, and even the one's that are on Chloe's CD have different arrangements and more of a Celtic flare here. Favorite tracks: 1) Walking in the Air, 2) May it Be (so beautiful, have never heard it before), 3) Orinoco Flow (I always heard of it as Sail Away -- was so delighted!), 4) The Soft Goodbye (warm and touching), 5) You Raise Me Up (an all time favorite, and the song they were singing on TV the moment I walked into my Grandparent's house and discovered this whole new world of music!). Celtic Woman is not just for fans of Celtic music. It is for anyone who appreciates beauty, culture, and inspiration. Celtic Woman, "May it be you'll journey on to light the day."
